That was awesome. Thanks for posting this OP.

I enjoyed the read as well.

Kind of agreed too.

@ajb314 No problem. I think that because ME3 is such a great hybrid of film and video game, people expect it to possess the strengths of both mediums and none of their limitations.

Critics are one of the first forms of modern trolling.

Art critique? something that is so utterly subjective that it cannot be molded by one hubris loaded, vapid egotist.

I mean really...who falls for this ****, Oh wait, people like the OP.

Just a question out of curiosity, have you read the article before posting that?

"THE ORIGINAL ENDINGS ARE POETIC: sort of killed any credibility he may have had. Good thing I've never heard of this guy before.

The ending is good if you see it as art to be reflected on, and profound when analyzed by a professional huh? I'll give it a pass as being good art to make a point; though I do not agree is was good.

Even if ME3's ending was a glorious thought provoking work, it would still suck because it missed the target audience imo. Is trying to find the deeper meaning, if there is any, in leveling up, exploring the galaxy, extra terrestrial booty tapping, or stopping robots trying to kill me really why I'm playing? I like a deep story too, but you can only take it so far when I'm more interested in Renegade tossing the merc out the window, followed by a classy 1 liner. Also, 10M people will tell you Justin Bieber is great music, sigh, and would rather listen to him than Beethoven. This is because they are either in the mood for that type of sound, and/or they lack the knowledge acquired by outside study to appreciate Beethoven more. In other words, they are not students of literature, film or whatever art ME3 is trying to be.

I don't really agree with him, but I can see where he's coming from.

Its his opinion on the issue, and its valid, but he also has to realise that other opinions on the issue are no less valid, and that just because someone else had a different interpretation of the series and its themes doesn't mean that they aren't ready for art.

YOU WANT TO BE INDULGED. YOU WANT OPTIONS. YOU WANT GLUTTONY. WE HAVE A WORD FOR THAT KIND OF VIDEO ENTERTAINMENT AND IT'S CALLED PORNOGRAPHY. AND IT'S PERFECT AT SATISFYING YOUR EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL IMPULSES SO HAVE AT IT.

WHAT?! art in my pornography???!!!oneone Whoplaced it there?! :P
I think this guy HULK missed his "citizen kane" in video games - we have Planescape: Torment, Psychonauts, Beyond Good And Evil and so on - all these games is "citizen kane" - good (best, exceptional etc.) but had not very convincing sales - I believe these games were ahead of  thier times.
But for me MassEffect was (and is now) not Citizen Kane of video games it was like Cameron's Avatar. And fact that ME3 came out not like Avatar but more like Ridley Scott's Prometheus - that is bad. Cause I now Bioware can do better - even EC proves that

I can kind of see where he is coming from. The idea behind the Mass Effect 3 ending was not bad. It just didn't feel like Mass Effect. It would have been an appropriate ending for any other game.

Or maybe a specific game? Deus Ex?

It's already the ending to Deus Ex. Just replace "synthetic life" with "augmentations".

I agree with him. The all caps gimmick made it hard to read all the way through, but he's right.

So the guy is basically saying people in general are just too stupid to understand the beauty and symbolism of the endings?

Ill accept what he wrote if he can explain in some pseudo science that is at least believable how synthesis actually works and where else it was referenced in the lore.

Because all I see is caps and a lot of bull****.

Good read, even if the all-caps hurt my eyes. I particularly liked him calling out the Angry Joe review, and gamer reactions in general for all the self-entitled, whinging nonsense.

No, OP, he doesn't use sarcasm or harsh lines to gain popularity, instead he writes gimmicky reviews entirely in caps lock in an effort to be funny. This guy is a joke.

Oh no, he can't be serious: "AND THEY ENCAPSULATED THE ENTIRE JOURNEY WITH THIS BEAUTIFUL STARGAZER SCENE..."

Now i understand it all! ME3 endings were written by Hulks and for Hulks. It used common themes of Hulk folk poetry.
Hulk cannot smash hologram, but hologram really likes green. And it said lots of complicated things to Hulk, it did not think Hulk was stupid, like others do. It talked to Hulk, even if Hulk did not understand. It was beautiful. Then there were shiny colors and then pretty picture with ,like, planets. Hulk loves. Poetry. Do not smash, haters. Go away and buy DLC!

14 lines of dialogue is a long, in depth conversation apparently.

200 million dollars were sucked out of the global economy for this game.  We aren't self-entitled.  We're mad.

Wow! It all makes sense to me now!

It's all about cycles! I even get DA2 now! It Was about cycles also. That's why you were stuck in 1 city and kept revisiting the same cave over and over and over. It's all about cycles. Unicycles, bicycles, tricycles, motorcycles, wash cycles, spin cycles, dry cycles. Cycles everywhere!

What art! I feel so stupid not seeing this. I even love DA2 now....
