Is there any mod out there that has been tested maybe a few versions out that really really bump up the difficulty. Nightmare is pretty easy on my 3rd play through almost making me want to stop playing plus I would like to enjoy some user created armor & weapons but they are so OP!!! lol So if ne1 knows a reliable mod please let me know.

i haven't tried any but there is a few like nightmare 2.4. most of them is designed toward how the author wants the game so it's not sure it's up your alley so to speak.

I am quite disappointed in the challenge between hard and nightmare, it's barely noticable.

I also find Nightmare too easy. People warned me that Dragon Age is a very challenging game but my first playthrough was on Nightmare. During the fight with Brankha I had to reload three times and that's it. All other bosses were killed in my 1st or 2nd attempt.

You don't need a mod to make the game more challenging though. You can go solo! Create an Arcane Warrior and beat the entire game with just your main character. It's tough but definitely possible.

You can also go for a very unusual (and fun) mix of party members. Three archers and a main tank for example (although that is actually a very strong setup). Or what about four Warriors?

See I rather not solo the game just not as much fun since I wouldn't be using team tactics ya know. I've tried wearing no rings, amulets, & only gear with no buffs on it but still too easy once you get the tactics down. I wish at very least they would of put no level cap on & let us play through on a higher level with scaling enemies even a mod to make enemies scale better like 3 levels higher than you & a few more on screen would be really nice. i'm about to go do some searching around now.

http://www.dragonage...file.php?id=320 I finally found a difficulty mod that seems to fit me perfectly. If anyway is looking for the same I would suggest this mod. Read the description it offers a lot. Now I can finally get back into DA:O. The game is fun when its easy but a challenge is always a lot more rewarding!!! Only tested it for an hour 7 backed up all my saves. Works great so far I'm not running around soloing the game now. lol.

That mod looks....really interesting.  Let's face it, it's the fact that you can chain chug mana/health pots like they are going out of style that really nerfs difficulty.  I'm seriously considering a 2nd playthrough of the game (probably just on Normal at first) using this mod.  It looks that good.

Try a play through on Nightmare with no potions.

Oh hey, there's my other mod :)

I haven't had the opportunity to playtest that mod much, only the potion thing in my current Normal difficulty game, but that part works perfectly, although I'm tempted to bump the potion cooldown up to 60s, or higher .  Its certainly changed the way I play in normal, though.

Feedback would be great, since I haven't had the opportunity to test the Hard/Nightmare modifiers, like, AT ALL. I just plugged in some bigger numbers which felt a bit more 'nightmarish' compared to the +/- 5% modifiers that come as standard...

Potions are not the reason I DL'd that mod, I limit myself to 2 potions for my party per fight unless there are a few elites & a boss. I also do not let anone fall in battle but I got this mod b/c it reduces how much health potions heal you plus it increases the effects of enemies. like spell resistance, physical resistance & damage done to me. It works very well so far but still haven't really sat down to give it a rtry, I'll probably start a new game & play through a good 5 hours or so & let everyone know how it is.

Why not play without armor and simply use a dagger?

(Or better yet, turn on the air conditioner w/the windows open in wintertime with several stinging insects buzzing around you after staying up for 30 hours?-JK (6_9) (^_^)

I must admire your masochistic hunger for brutal gaming difficulties though.
