is there a way to "convert" a normal retail key to a steam-redeemable key or something like that ? =P

The retail key can be used to download the game via EA Origin, but you'd have to ask about Steam on the Steam forums.

Note that, to work properly, the old disc installation must be uninstalled completely before downloading and re-installing the game via a digital client. Otherwise, bad things ensue.
