What species did you make? I would post this on the polls but when I post DAO polls, people complain that I am flooding the polls with questions about games that people don't care about and, some people don't comment on the polls.

I played a human noble the first time, then I tried out everything else in subsequent playthroughs.

Oh forgot to mention. I played a dwarf casteless rogue. I only played as a dwarf for their natural resistance to magic. I also had no interest in being a Mage so that wasn't a minus for me.

The only story I haven't played is the dwarf commoner one (yet!)
The first time I played, I played as a rogue dalish elf. I really enjoyed it, but buggered up with character choice and ended up stuck so abandoned that game. The first time I completed the game was with a mage elf.
The dwarf noble story is really good, but I enjoy playing as an elf the most.

If you don't do all of them, you're doing it wrong.
No, but seriously, you should try them all once.

Human almost every time. I don't care much for elves, and I've never had any interest in dwarves.

My first character was a Dalish elf, then a casteless dwarf. But I've played them all.

Played them all. In order of preference: City elf, Dwarf commoner, Dalish elf, Dwarf noble, Human noble, Elf mage, Human mage. Witch Hunt really beefed up the mage and Dalish origins.
Please note, I like them all.

My first character was lawful good dwarf noble (2h warrior).
Second one was neutral good human mage (arcane warrior).
Currently, I'm playing lawful neutral/truly neutral dwarf commoner. Nightmare, solo, DW rogue.
If I'll have urge to play more I'll make elf.
Eventually I shall do all origins.

I've done all the origin stories but have only done a complete run with Female Human Noble and Male Human Mage.
Am currently doing a Dwarf Noble (in my avatar) and am really enjoying it - way more than the Female Human Noble which I basically did for the exact same reason everyone else did....

I've played all the origins, and my favourites are the elf origins (especially city elf and elf mage) and the dwarf commoner.

I've played all 3 races, at least twice each. Really, I find that one's about the same as the other. There's massive storyline and character interaction differences, but unless you're playing a mage or interacting with another character, it makes about as much difference as if they'd named the races "small" "medium" and "large." (Of course there's the dwarf thing where they get %10 spell resistance, but I rarely even notice it.)
Don't get me wrong, I like the option, and part of the reason I'm considering not getting DA2 is because not having race options will probably make the game even more monotonous... it just doesn't really define the playthrough for me outside of NPC interactions.
