Hello,
I find that often times I am unable to load my saved games - I get an error message saying that I am not authorized to use this or that DLC.
I find that this problem can easily be solved by ensuring that the DA Content Updater is running.
Problem is, even if I set this service in services.msc to run automatically, it just won't. Often I find it stopped for no apparent reason, and having to go back and re-start this service all the time is pretty annoying.
How can I ensure that DA Content Updater stays running? Any ideas?
I am on 64-bit Windows 7, running Microsoft Security Essentials, I guess this might have something to do with this.
TIA

DA is supposed to start the service when it runs, but it can only do so when it is run in admin mode on vista & 7.
I think it can still stop the service though so you are probably finding it stops working after the first time you restart the game.
You can always run daorigins.exe in admin mode by ticking the box under compatibility.

Hey that's a great idea, thanks! I'll try it tonight at home.

You shouldn't have to buy content on both PCs as long as you are logged into the same account on both PCs. It should download automatically on the second PC once you log in.
However if you are having problem downloading content see the Redeemed DLC Troubleshooting FAQ for solutions to some common problems getting DLC to download.

Well, if you have 2 PC's, then I assume you need two different copies of Dragon Age, and I would assume that your EA account is linked to your Dragon Age copy. If this is correct, then you would need to purchase DLC for both PC's. This is pure speculation though...

Odd, I had the same issue with the downloadable content not being authorized. I tried looking for the compatability option for the admin thing but instead, I just ran the DAOrigins.exe I found in: C:\\Program Files\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age origins\\bin_ship (File location may vary). That seemed to instantly fix it without me even logging into the EA account inside DA. I'm also playing the expansion currently, when I ran into this problem, so it's not exclusive to just DA:O. Hope that helps someone.

If you visit the Services are of your PC (Right-click on COMPUTER and choose Manage) and located the Dragon Age service, you can click the Log-On tab. There, change the Log On As to an admin account - Like the real Administrator account, if you have Pro or Ultimate Vista/7.

I had this same issue, and after trial and error, creating a shortcut to to the main executable, and then setting it to "Run as Administrator" started the game, and was able to automatically start the service (as per Twainer's post).
I had also tried DON3k's fix, however, setting the service to run as Administrator, and also as my account still did not let it automatically run during game load.
My setup:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Origin Download Version

Patch 1.05 fixes most DLC issues. Have you applied it yet? You have to do so manually, even with the EA Origin download version.
