Uh, do you mean the fight with the qunari at the end of Shepherding Wolves?
It might help if you tell us what kind of character you're playing.

Your class, man. Tell me your class. Is Hawke a mage? A rogue? A warrior?

Remember that Qunari are weaker against cold than any other attack. Assuming that you're talking about the fight at the end of Shepherding Wolves, have your mage hit them with Cone of Cold when they're bunched up at the beginning. Follow it up with Mighty Blow and any other area-of-effect spells you can.
Don't worry about killing Arvaarad until the end of the fight; just focus on killing the weaker qunari that pop up. At the end, you can just whittle him down to nothing.

If you're a Two-Handed Warrior, you should have Mighty Blow right from the beginning of the game. Cone of Cold is next to Winter's Grasp on the elemental tree for mages. You use them by opening your menu and selecting htem.
This is very basic "how do I play the game" stuff. Read the instruction manual or go through the tutorial at the beginning of the game again.
