It's funny We must nerf the piranha and typhoon because everyone's using them and that means they're OP.
But... barely anyone uses the acolyte pistol. Do you see an acolyte pistol buff? Because I haven't seen any ****ing acolyte buff.
I think you are pretty well incorrect in your assessment of how many people load out the acolyte.
I know it's been a while, but I think back on the DA2 boards I think it was pretty clear what I thought of your opinion.
And no, I've never seen a new weapon used less than the acolyte. The typhoon sees 10 times as much action, even after the nerf, and it's far rarer.
Hmph, I don't even remember you from the DA2 boards.
A LOT of people have the acolyte in their load ups. Not all are going to use it as their #1 weapons as is intended and because it's use is a bit more complex than just point and shoot people didn't use it. After seeing what it can do it will only become more popular.

I don't get why it has one, though. It's a powerful and accurate lighweight pistol, which because of having multiple pellets can ignore shield gate and be more usefull against armor because it has six rather than most shotgun's eight.Kalas321 wrote...
Good list indeed. Turns out the talon has a multiplier against barriers and shields. I wish I had known sooner.<_<

That is a reasonable enough approach. Really the only thing that itches me th wrong way is the quite frankly wretched way of buffing a weapon massively and then nerfing it again. It eludes the grasp of my understanding.
This basically sums up my feelings. It seemed pretty clueless to buff it right away. If they roll back the original buff it'll still be an amazing weapon.

Acolyte rocks, its just that most people dont know how the hell to use it, and people who do, well they dont usually play on public games. I enjoy one shoting the barriers of the group of phantoms that just spawned, and 2-3 shoting shields of atlases, also staggering enemies while i set my Biotic explosions off with them.
I wish they buffed some of the other weapons, i have this thing for the avenger, the wraith, the locust, the disciple, the crusader, the... om nom nom
I'm not saying it's a bad gun. I'm saying it's not used much. And they've flat out told us that how much people use particular weapons is an important factor in deciding if it's too powerful. By BW's own logic, the acolyte sucks.

I don't want to be negative, but it seems that the only thing saving me from walking away completely from Bioware was the fun MP. Now, it seems its going from fun to frustrating with these constant changes :/. Probably will still keep playing though since I'm a completionist...

Maintaining the balance ie. the challenge level of the game. It's either nerfing some weapons or buffing enemies since there really aren't other options. Which one do you prefer?HashimSharif wrote...
what the point of nerfing , if it co-op
If you want balance you 1st have to fix the major bugs out there. Until then no such thing idiot.

I'm gonna laugh when the damage reduction is nothing more than reverting it to its pre-buff value (which was already stupid strong) and people still cast up a ****storm about it.
Pattern recognition. It's called "pessimism" by people who don't possess it.

Or, more likely, you have neither the actual statistics, their criteria when using said statistics or how big a part usage play with the rest of the data.Rifneno wrote...

In other words, you have insufficient data to make such conclusions.

but where is the buff to the Wraith?
It could use a RoF Buff.
Also since where talking about what could use a buff, the Vanguard's charge weapon and damages boosts could use a buff.

Fail boat cruise, population bioware!
Anyone who spends actual money to get weapons that will be nerfed to oblivion is a complete idiot.
Anyone who spends actual money helps keep new content coming for EVERYONE. You should be thanking the people who pay for more than just the online pass.
And bioware would do well to listen to their paying customers. This paying customer doesn't like the nerfs. I'll play the game, but I won't buy anymore.

In the same week, Pirahana should get a good nerf, and then the UR shotty's should all get decent buffs, you know to make them worth being an UR?
Seems reasonable.

Beats me. All I have to know is that it does and I'll using it A LOT more from now on. Probably use it with all that warp ammo I never since these pellets hit harder.Poison_Berrie wrote...

It's called doubt.
Did I do the right thing or not?
Did we make a mistake?
Is the oven on fire?
What really chaps my hide is this weird mutation in the community.
We have bloody factions now engaged in a cruel flame war.
I really don't know what is the right approach to nerfing and buffing.
I just want to have fun.
All this politiccing is hurting my brain.
There are only two logical approaches to this conflict!
1.) Rational arguement from both sides to achieve "balance" backed ny facts, numbers & field tests. This gives BioWare accurate feedback which helps keep them from "over-nerfing" or Under-buffing"
Or...
2.) IGNOREMENT. By ignoring nerf threads the likelyhood of said weapon being nerfed decreases. Without controversy and attention BioWare is limited to their in-game telemetry.
However neither are truly possible for that is the way of human nature. This cycle will continue & there will never be any happy party. The ideal solution, I think, would be for BioWare to either completely stop with the balance changes(highly unlikely). Or limit the frequency of balance changes(much more reasonable I think).
Regardless, by my pessismistc nature, I feel this maddness will continue. And so will the unbalancedness of this game.
Stay classy BSN.
