I'm confused. You're saying sniper rifles are bad on platinum, bioware posts that they're changing a game mechanic in a way that makes them better, and you say that's a bad sign?

Makes me wonder if they ever test the weapons on anything past Silver before nerfing them.

The Pirahna is not OP, not even at X level on Gold and Platinum. You have to kill stuff fast on those difficulty as the enemies do stupid amount of damage (anything below 1000 shields and health will die to one Warp from a Platinum Banshee). Also, try using a Pirahna X with no weapon mods and consumable gears on Gold. You will realize that without AP ammo IV, Shredder mod V and Smart Choke V, this weapon is jank.

Also, Pirahna is highly inaccurate even with smart choke V unless you use some accuracy modifier like Marksman. But who the hell plays a Turian Soldier on Platinum anyways?

A Rare weapon should be treated as better than its Silver and common counterparts. Ultra Rare weapons should be better than Rare weapons which in turn are better than their Silver counterparts and Silver will trump Common weapons. Otherwise, why bother with the rarity tag on weapons? BW should just instead make everything common if they insist on nerfing rare and UR weapons and classes every single week.

GI + Claymore X = OP, also another simple fact...

Also,

Gi + Striker X = OP. Fact.

And

GI + Katana X = OP. Another Fact.

Just substitute the weapon with any weapon you like and it will be OP in the hands of a GI.

The reason being is that the GI can buff weapon damage from its passives, hunter mode and tactical cloak. And mix that in with 20% debuff from proximity mine fired from cloak, you can kill almost everything on Gold and Platinum with almost any decent weapon.

I agree everything you mentioned except this.

Actually I have one friend who is professional to use Turian soldier in gold/ platinum with his harrican...He killed Banshee and Prime in secs...

Of course, not Pirahna...

I can understand addressing top contender guns now and then, but can we address some of the dramatically underpowered/rarely taken on high difficulty guns at some point?  (e.g. Locust, Crusader, Eagle, etc.)

Hi A Miaow. Sorry, I probably sucked with using the Turian Soldier on Gold and Platinum. But I can't seem to get the Turian Soldier to work on Platinum and Gold. I seem to die a lot when using him. I have better survival rate with the Batarian Sentinel on Gold.

I might be going online tonight. See you and HBSWong for some Platinum runs?

Now it´s official. classes that rely heavily on weapons are not welcome to Multiplayer. Whoever wants to play a destroyer, if he simply can play a slayer, hide behind a wall and spam biotic strike - the one button wonder. Edit: What is wrong with you guys? How about adressing the unloved weapon categories instead of nerfing usable weapons into the dust? Do you really think it´s fine, that due to shield gate mechanism A M98-Widow is simply one of the worst weapons to choose on gold? Literally a rifle that was build to destroy light tanks ( Anti Material rifle ) isn´t able to oneshot a geth trooper? Apart from the fact that nobody wants to snipe anymore anyway thanks to the various methods of making the screen shake like it´s world war 3 and lining up shots is next ti impossible anyway... /rant

Damn right! That would be the best fix. Make it as heavy as a claymore, I don´t care! The destroyer was built around being able to ignore weapon weight, so make the weapon unuseable to tech/biotic classes and we are good to go!

Vanguards should have the possibility to use good shotguns as well, not only those gun buffers classes.
A damage reduction won't hurt them alot anyway. <_<

Soo lets get this straight, why it is silly to nerf the piranha. By reducing its damage, they would make it just.... a scimitar... YAY!!!! so now we have a rare, that is on par(and still less accurate) than an uncommon, then on the other hand, if they would increase its weight, it would not be affected in the hands of classes that can utilize it to its fullest. I predict piranha will be gathering dust on our gun racks post nerf and we all go back to reload canceling with claymores or GPS's if the nerf hits too hard.

Wait a second, ... that doesn't make sense. First you buffed the weapon damage after you released it and now you are going to nerf it again?

Do you have any idea what you are doing? Because evidently, you didn't at one point or the other.

20-25% damage reduction would make it as bad or worse than scimitar. which is an uncommon btw -.- considering scimitar has less spread than piranha. about the same fire rate if you tap the button, but weighs less.... so even if the damage nerf is 15%-20% people will still have serious difficulties making a choice over a rare or an uncommon that weighs less, has practicly the same rof and slightly better accuracy >_<

If Vanguards have to suffer, so that at LEAST ONE Soldier class is viable to be played, so be it. Vanguards have other options. Soldiers have much less. I DOn´t WANT vanguards to be nerfed. They deserver some love, exspecially with the magnectic hands banshee and all... but if Bioware wants to nerf the piranha, lowering the damage isnt the way to go and would make the piranha unfit for vanguards anyway. So what´s the point?

Some more random ranting: Fully skilled in destroyer mode you need at least 20-30 Shots with EB/SC and ammo mod III with the piranha to take down a boss. What is so insanely good about this that it needs to be nerfed? Tech classes can solo bosses in the same time, without ammo and producing nice AOE damage while on the go.

I JUST DON´T UNDERSTAND IT!

At this point I'm more interested in fixes for bugs/glitches than nerfs to weapons/characters. If Bioware would spend less time nerfing all the weapons/characters/powers to all hell and more time on bug fixing then that would go a long way to making the game more enjoyable for everyone.

Bait and switch.
Typhoon was the "main event", Piranha the "fluffer".
Now that those who would buy BW/MS/Sony points or whatever it is they use, have already done so, time to "balance" these guns to "normalcy" and make them just a tad better then their rare counterparts so that you would be wowed by the next round of "OPed" guns.

On a side note, wonder when they are going to slide down that slippery slope and nerf biotic and tech powers into "normalcy".

20-25% damage reduction would make it as bad or worse than scimitar...


I... don't think that's right. Right now a piranha does a little bit more than 3 times as much damage as a scimitar. A 25% reduction would make it about 2.25 times. So it'd be like dual wielding scimitars (plus a bit.)
