I don't get why reduce rare and ultra rare weapons continously to trash... Why even buy things anymore? Whats the reason to want to play when the rewards are all tainted by poor development choices? It's like the rares and ultra rares in this game aren't the real versions of those weapons, but cheap imitations someone is trying to deceptively pass off as good. Slowly people realize they aren't getting something good but something bad. Instead of designer balanced guns we are getting Walmart knock-offs. Oh on closer inspection it doesn't say Sony, it says Fony. Yeah please take the N7 off the side if the gun. Bioware devs are like the Bizarro version of Epic Games devs.

What's funny about what you said is, score doesn't mean squat! This is not Call of Duty!

So you take a step into power-creeping, which I'm also okay with. You come up with new contents that keep players interested, new contents that are different and pace the game differently. Then the new imaginary problem arises when people start FARMING with these new contents, and somehow you believe you're justified to tell us that you don't like people farming... AFTER you geared this entire game into farm and grind.
Yeah sure I get that you want people to play for fun, but how long do you expect them to play the same 11 waves over and over again with little variations? And let's not forget this entire MP is based off of a single-player platform that's always been more RPG oriented than action, with a progression of power increase with every new weapon you pick up along the way. No matter how you try to control player behaviors, they will ALWAYS fall into the patterns of farm and grind, and that's on you.
There is no shame in power-creeping, especially for a MP that turned out more successful than people expected. I say, power creep hard, leave things nonviable, welcome to MP action-RPG!
And here is a cold hard fact: if you charged people $5 for a DLC that gives you a Piranha I, and they can progress the weapon in a FUNCTIONING F***ING STORE that charge PSPs NOT $3, but 75 cents, I WOULD PAY FOR IT. Think about it, $5 + 75cents(9), and that's PER PLAYER who want the shotgun, compared to a few newbies here and there paying $10 and feel like they're gibbed and never pay again. Do the math.
Power-creep weapons, DLCs, and difficulties. Finished Platinum? Make Diamond. Make new game modes entirely. How about a Gaunlet-Mode? 30 waves? Infinite waves? Objectives every 3 waves, or every wave even. You don't even need new enemies!! Wow I just came up with an entirely new business model for you guys.
Conclusion, don't depend on "variety" or "trying new things" to keep players hooked. You have no variety to try, as you run this on a single-player platform that was designed to power-creep to begin with. This is the direction you snow-balled from the beginning, and you had very little power to change it.
PS: Your single player was done for a long time ago, you may as well charge people for new weapons in MP and make them available in SP.

Also while balance is important, the idea of constant nerfing-buffing also has many negatives. Particularly in this type of game. Is it fair for a person to need to completely re-learn certain characters on a bi-monthly basis? no other shooter I play dies this.
The problem with constant nerfing/patching in general in modern gaming, is that it can be a means to allow a developer to do something they should never do, which is seek to be a tool by which lesser skilled players rationalize and compensate for his/her lack of skill. The burden of personal development should rest on the player. This is part of the negative aspects that constant developer intervention can have.
Overpowered, underpowered, it is all subjective, which is why it sets such a dangerous precedent for developers to act as vehicles for change and not necessarily the community. This is in regards to many genres of gaming, in general.

Power Combos
Biotic Explosion (Armor=200%, Barrier=200%, Shields=100%)
Cryo Explosion (Armor=100%, Barrier=100%, Shields=100%)
Fire Explosion (Armor=200%, Barrier=100%, Shields=100%)
Tech Burst (Armor=100%, Barrier=100%, Shields=200%)
Well, I guess we now know with certainty why BEs trump all the other combos. Every 'boss' enemy has armor or barriers or both. Shields are easier to get through regardless.

N7 Piranha. Damage : [2.3 - 6.2]

I only say this because it seemed on platinum last night I was noticing enemies regaining shields faster, but that very well could have been that I was just paying more attention.
Just a thought. If you didn't do it this time though, it may be something you want to consider. I think you would get much more honest reviews.

This is one hell of a delay on the balance changes.
Hopefully he's just composing his resignation from bioware too, so it's taking time. Then we get a good guy in here that understands this is a shooter not a weekly mmo that needs nerfing. That understands different skill levels, different numbers of players 1-4, not just 4. Someone who doesn't forget fun comes first.

Step 2: wait for people to buy packs to get great gun
Step: Nerf it so great gun can't cut into revenue
Step 4: Profit!

Yeah it makes the game pointless. also for the people who buy bioware points, there no need to spend money since the rares/ultra rares aren't even good.

This game appeals to a large number of people who enjoy it for different reasons, not just to chase a score. Some like Adepts, some like certain classes, some like only certain characters.

I find it utterly wonderful how bioware continuously changes stuff around and they expect people to continue to play. The people that are telling you to nerf are wrong. How about for once you put a vote on the forum and see how many people like what you're doing. If you would like balance changes to continue select yes and if you want all the bogus crap undone hit no. If yes won than i think we would all shut up. The fact that bioware does all of this balancing despite the amounts of people complaining about them doing it shows how they are only listening to a certain group of people and not the community as a whole. EVERY PERSON ON MY FRIENDS LIST THAT PLAYS ME3 is actually quitting and we've all talked about selling it because of these continuing circumstances. I honestly had no problem with the games ending to begin with but yet those are the "fans" that need to be happy so everything they moan about they get. The game sold in early march and that was the final product, this is just extra weight bogging down the ship.
I agree. I already lost all my friends that played infiltrators.
