I Just played the Dwarf Noble origin (like it so far)
but when I get imprisoned and Gorim comes to talk with me he stands to far away! I can't initiate dialouge!
What can I do? Have I missed something?
In other words I am locked in my cell and Gorim is to far away, so I can't speak with him..
Any help will be greatly appreciated
I am running the game throug Steam (Patch 1.2)

Update the game, it worked for me. I had the dialoge.

uhm... too far away? Shouldn't happen. In which windowsize do you play? And yes, Steam should already be updated

Window-size? Max. Its definitely a glitch/bug. I ended up just dumping my noble dwarf, leaving him in prison, and I started over using a Dwarf Commoner. Pretty disappointing, really.

Same here. Gorim faces the wrong cell and i will remain imprisoned forever.
But hey, at least the last patch worked so far, that now you can read the DLC-book and polish your dragon-amor while slowly dying in this cell of yours... good work ...

It has to do with the rendering... I had it once - just restart the game (exit + start up again) and it should be re-rendered, and work fine again

I have used the original launcher instead of steam's. I have also stayed in first person view mode and it seemed to worked

Same problem here, nothing works. Restarted the game, started through steam, through the launcher, just by the .exe file. I even got tired and started a new dwarf noble and got stuck in the same place again. This is silly!

I swear when I first tried this game it didn't happen and everything was fine and i had my chat with Gorim, yet now he stands a cell away, out of conversation distance- what the hell?
Aren't patches meant to solve problems, not add them?

i fixed it. i quit and then rebooted it, then reverted to a previous save and it worked
The makers severely screwed up though.

Just gonna bump this, to get an OFFICIAL reaction.. I am now about to start playing DA2, but I refuse to pay money for something, that will not get support..

Allow me to add to the choir of dissent over this issue.
I've previously played through the Dwarf Noble Origin but after getting a new rig and trying it with the latest patch I, too, get stuck in the cell with Gorim out of reach.
I've restarted the game, reverted to older saves, run through the entire origin story three times and reinstalled the game twice. No dice.
At least it's consistent and easily reproducable.
Windows 7 Professional x64
Intel i7 2600K
8GB DDR3 1333MHz
AMD Radeon 6950 2GB
Dragon Age CE 1.04 with all DLC content save Darkspawn Chronicles and the Feastday Gifts/Pranks.
This game really need at least one more patch with all the outstanding, even game-breaking, bugs.

An update on this issue:
With the Catalyst 11.4 Preview driver this rendering bug seems to have resolved itself. Previously nothing I did would allow me to sidestep this issue but with the new driver version I can finally progress my Dwarf Noble, joy!

OK I believe I've found how to fix it. You need to reload to a save prior to being imprisioned, and you MUST switch to 1st person view. For me "Page Down" will put you into 1st person view. When I did this, Gorim walks right up to me like it should be. Hope it helps.
