That is an odd figure to throw out there? How do you know 25% of the fanbase is with IT?

I can theorize that RGB choosers - like myself - would like to see an alternate ending like IT (anything other than RGB and starkid being real) but we keep to RGB at face value because Bioware decided to move in that direction with EC and the announcement by Chris stating there will be no more post-ending DLC.

And, personally, I do think the IT as a hallucination is false. The "IT Con" theory that Twilight God thought up was rather nice and very applicable to the endings. But the IT Hallucination theory is at best wishful thinking powered by speculations and at worst fan-fiction. In the end it will come down to what your headcanon tells you.

What is "IT Con" ?

Don't listen to twilight god's "brilliant idea", it's the same thing as IT itself, even if you go on the IT speculation thread, they're all angry that people are listening to his idea when the IT people know it's the exact same thing.

Everything IT related is bs. No new endings. I seriously don't understand how people still believe the IT at this point. I felt like writing constructive posts about this, but IT supporters never want to take in anything that hurts their "faith" (lol its a video game). Also, I'm tired of trying to convince like 6 or 7 people.

Not exactly the same. TTG's version is about 30% less crazy than standard IT, and IIRC he's saying the game actually has an ending, which is the big conceptual flaw in standard IT.

The ending was not what we wanted, this IT bull is just people clutching at straws it won't happen they choose how they wanted it to end and some people can't accept that and thus scour for any trace of what they think is bioware's hidden genius locked away in the game.

THere is no org vs synth motivations, the starkid is just trying to manipulate you.

To me, IT con theory is kinda like a game of wits against the reapers.

Personally, I thought the additions to the endings were pretty neat, if a bit confusing and frankly, better than the Indoctrination Theory.

Perhaps I'd pay attention to the IT if the supporters weren't all constantly whining every second of the day. Video games are art and Mass Effect is indeed a great story that we're emotionally attached to, yes, but that doesn't mean you get to have your panties in a knot just because the ending wasn't what you wanted.

Because the game tells another story. Look: I like the IT and am a destroyer, but it's simply not the story Bioware is telling. It would have been a nice story, but it's just fan fiction. The EC is pretty clear that the war against the Reapers is over after you make your decision on how to use the crucible or you will leave it to the next cycle(s) and sacrifice the whole current galactic community because you are not willing to sacrifice synthetics for the freedom of organics.

That still is the IT in the sense of a "roulette game" for the choices, which goes against the player choice so heavily encouraged in a game like mass effect. It's no better than the IT, and from reading his post, I can say that he's just mad the writing goes against everything in the me universe (which we all were and still kind of are), but he doesn't realize that a fan theory will never be a substitute for the real ending, no matter how "better" it may seem to be.
