I remember before I came to this forum I found myself in a zombie mod that gave me like 200K credits.
Well, it was supposed to anyways, but my computer crapped out cause of all the husks. My friend apparently got it. This was back when mods were... 'grey area'.

sounds like you need a credit wipe

Thanks for the info.
Just a quick question - as some-one who plays mp occasionally and doesn't really pay attention to the math side of it ie, xxxcredits awarded for xxaction - is there a guide out there somewhere which tells us how many credits we should be receiving for each match?

I'm sure there's many people out there who wouldn't even know they'd gained too many credits if they only pay occasionally to up the EMS, this info would be a great help.

Generally speaking....

Bronze is approximately 15k credits, silver is approx. 30k, gold is approx. 70k, and platinum is something like 120k (not sure on plat, haven't tried it yet).

Q: How much info do you give to those banned?
A:
The banning process is quite unique. Often we will not give cheaters
much, if any, information as to why they were reprimanded as we do not
want to give them any way to streamline their cheating to avoid being
banned. We do not currently give date/time/etc. information for any
actions we take and we will not in the future.

BW: You're under arrest.
Player: What's the charge?
BW: We're not going to tell you.

Seriously?

If you're going to bring capital punishment to video games, you realy ought to tell them why you're crippling their $80 game.

I think Bioware sometimes forgets we're paying customers... taking away a major portion of the game should be a last resort.

Sadly, their inability to fix exploitable bugs (instead of banning everyone) and EA's corporate greed is driving them down a dark path. It's only a matter of time someone they ban has access to wealth of legal knowledge and decides to fight back.

Banning people is sometimes necessary, but yes I agree it seems only right to explain why someone was banned in case there is a mix-up. I am sure Bioware has a reason for this though

I'm wondering about a few of things, that I couldn't find a suitable answer for in the FAQ.
(Might just be me who's bad at reading, but figured I'd ask anyway.)

The first is if you can tell us how long an investigation usually takes. It is hours? Days? Weeks? Does the person who reported get any kind of reply at all about the actions taken? For example, will you let them know if they can keep the credits if they ended up in a game where people cheated, or alternately if they can't keep the credits? Or do you just remove/not remove credits and let the person figure out how long to wait to spend the credits on their own?

The second thing I'm wondering about is: When the FAQ talks about "credits gained" when it comes to getting them wiped, or getting you banned, or whatever, how many credits are we talking about? Is it only when it's a significant amount of credits (millions), or does this also apply to if we made 35K from someone else glitching in one Silver match?

Also, about this:
"If you were in a match where you benefitted from the actions of a cheater, you can report yourself to me3mpcheaters@bioware.com with details of your case and may receive a lighter sentence instead of being banned."
How much is "benefitted", and what kind of cheating are you talking about?
For example: When the missile glitch was rampant you said people wouldn't get penalized if they finished the match and kept the credits, providing it didn't happen all the time.

Each case is different, there are cases that are quick and there are cases that can take days.

Whether we choose to take away credits or let a player keep it is also reviewed case by case. For example, if you were rewarded credits from one or two game with a missile glitcher (with no credit mods), we most likely will let you keep your credits, but being rewarded an unusually large amount of credits from a modded game is a different story and can put you at risk of being seen as a cheater.

As for benefiting from a cheater, it can range from you benefitting from a cheater's modded game that rewards unsually high amounts of credits, to benefitting from a cheater using map exploits or the infamous missile glitch. As you said, we do allow people to keep credits earned from a game with missile glitchers and also to avoid wasting consumables, but if you are constantly playing with missile glitchers, it can be seen as you benefitting from their cheating.

A reward for reporting a cheater?

Yeah, you don't play with cheaters anymore after they're banned. That's reward enough. Or it should be.

Question:

How on Earth can kill stealing be considered punishable at all? You really dont net anything from scoring a kill unless you are say a Vorcha or Krogan. Kill stealing really is a made up issue in the game.

i think you people sould stop crying and asking stupid questions. if you cheat in any way you should be banned period.what if this, what if that..if you have to ask these questions then you probably are not playing the game correctly and are cheating. i have no questions to ask because i dont cheat.

Why would someone report themselves for being in a game with cheaters? Its not your own fault if you get caught a game with them. Who wants to report themselves to incur a penalty, its noble and all but wholly unneccessary because odds are you won't really find that many out there that would make it look like your looking for cheaters to benefit from on purpose.

I don't cheat nor do I look for for cheaters to play with, I just wonder what a person's logic would for turning themselves and get a penalty on themselves, when they weren't looking for trouble.

As an example, if you turn yourself in for gaining x amount of credits as a result of someone else cheating we'll simply remove the credits. If you don't, you run the risk of being banned. If you do get banned then it's a little too late to report yourself.

but i hadnt started to come to this forum untill the other day and i earned and spent credits. i totaly didnt mean to and when i did do the rocket glitch it was on total accident. i asked my friends wtf was going on and they said it gives you like infinity rockets but i didnt belive them. so i tried it on bronze solo and found out it was true(may have been silver it was a while back) and immiediatly quit. i used a falcon. i didnt know why i got kicked for using that weapon without a secondary until i started coming to the forums. so since i did spend the credits...do i get quit. cuzz i really dont want to go back to halo there is absolutly to many angry words said and no team work whatsoever. i think if i got kicked from ME3 id just quit gaming alltogether. can you please shine some light on this thx?

If you not sure in yourself, then do a selfreport. They may punish you, but won't ban you if they find you guilty. Also you can be clean as well.
Either way you can play ME3 multi and sleep well.

I think there have been a few threads on the legal issues, and it turns out that players don't actually have any legal remedy. (This is a good thing, by the way, as BioWare isn't actually doing anything wrong.) But seriously, if you don't want to follow BioWare's rules, build your own server system that can host your own matches. And if you think you can fix the glitches quickly and efficiently, I'm sure someone at BioWare would welcome it if you made the adjustments to the code and then sent it to them.

I have had my gaming experienced ruined by cheaters a few times, so in having these policies, I actually feel that BioWare is demonstrating the fact that they care about their paying customers. Keep up the good work, BioWare.

When you force the enemy to spawn a specific location by placing yourself and team mates on specific points of the map.

Map exploits? Could you give an example? I'm not sure what you mean by "map exploits". Do you mean when someone falls through the ground? That would be odd because suddenly falling through the game world is something that is completely out of our control.
