I did search before I posted - nothing came up, which is not to say there is nothing out there on this. I apologise if I've missed something obvious. 

How is it that Wynne escapes from Ostagar? Is this ever explained? Is she there as part of Loghain's forces?

Actually, if you ask her right after you get her in the Tower, she says she was wounded, IIRC (I've on seen the convo once, so I'm trying to remember it), and laid low in Ostagar helping whoever she could to get out before slinking away to the Tower. Perhaps her pet spirit helped?

In this same conversation, she called Loghain a traitorous bastard. So, two votes to remove Loghain's head in Landsmeet!

Thank you. I've only listened through to that conversation once, it must have passed me by the first time. I'll pay more attention next time.

In fact the whole debacle in the tower happened because of Ostagar. Uldred came back and had almost all the senior enchanters convinced to back Loghain. Unfortunately Wynne had let Irving know what Loghain did at Ostagar and he scuttled Uldred's plan. Uldred then reacted badly, using blood mage thugs to disrupt the meeting and then summoning demons, one of whom possessed Uldred.



Talking with Wynne and then Niall as a mage character gets you pretty much the whole story.
