My DA:O Warden did the Ultimate Sacrifice ending, so I ran through Awakening, Golems, and Witch Hunt with an Orlesian Warden-Commander. I understand you can only import one character into DA2, though I have my canon choices on two separate characters. I assume since I only can take one character, I'd want to take the one with likely more story implications (My Origins Warden) however, if I only import the events of DA:O and not Awakening, what would the game default my decisions to be? For an example, I killed the Architect and saved Amaranthine. If I imported an US Warden without Awakening registered, would it say the Architect survived, or Amaranthine was burned, or such? Are there really that many important story implications with importing an Origins Warden? Would it be better to import my Orlesian because he is still alive? Would the story magically "Resurrect" my dead Warden for the plot?
Essentially, which of my two Wardens should I import into DA2, and how would the game default my choices on the one I didn't import?

Ultimate Sacrifice is Game Over you lost the game regardless how you view it coupled with the fact that you can avoid the ritual and still live as long as your not a noble since you can sacrifice Loghain to the Arch Demon and survive I don't even consider the Awaken Warden a canon character he or she is merely a filler if your stupid enough to accept death ... i mean seriously who sacrifices them self we are the human race we are base selfish only idiots rushes to their own death no offense

Unfortunately if you import your Orlesian Warden, DA2 will use a default DA:O Warden that survived, did the Dark Ritual, and (IIRC) crowned Alistair as King. It's not DA2's fault, though. Awakening simply doesn't recognise dead Wardens or their deeds. :/ Using an Orlesian Warden, while a perfect way to RP around a US Warden, is essentially treated as a brand new post-Blight game.
If you import your DA:O save, your US Warden and what factions he sided with throughout the game will be acknowledged. But Awakening-related things, such as a small quest involving Nathaniel, won't take place. Honestly I don't recall any other Awakening references (been a while since I played DA2), but DA:O had plenty.
Edit: I'm informed there's a small quest if you don't defend Amaranthine, too.

@OP - Shadow of Light Dragon summed it up pretty well, here's the wiki link with what import flags are supposed to transfer depending on decision (there are bugs of course..)
http://dragonage.wik...built_histories
there are no quests in DA2 resulting from the Architect desicion. There are different quest you get depending if Amaranthine or Vigil's Keep was saved and as SLD said - there's a quest related to Nathaniel.
You may be better off importing your Origins Warden and skipping the awakenings import to avoid your warden suddenly being alive.
@CelestJP.. wow.

Not to be rude, but do you just post random crap all over these forums? >.>
It's a roleplaying game. Of course there was going to be people who created characters that would do the Ultimate Sacrifice.

@CelestJP: So your advice is "You played the game wrong, do it the right way."? Thanks. Inspirational. Really.
Also, just some advice, attempting to say "No offense" after calling someone a complete idiot is automatically contradicting.
@ Everyone else: Thanks for the advice, and the link. My biggest worry was that, by not importing Awakening, it would "Default" to options I didn't pick, such as Anders blurting out in Legacy "THE WARDEN-COMMANDER SPARED THE ARCHITECT! DID I TELL YOU THAT ALREADY? LET ME TELL YOU AGAIN!" Or giving me the quest where Amaranthine was burned.
