I raise you Project Reality, Counter Strike, Red Orchestra, Insurgency, DayZ and Garry's mod. You can't just only look at the negative sides of modding. But in reality, that isn't modding. That is cheating.

Or how about the Skyrim workshop or all the user created mods for Left 4 Dead?  I probably played more user created campaigns in L4D1/2 than the official Valve ones.

also a good example is crysis 1 mp with dedicated server support
there was close to no completly unchanged server
was pretty funny to see what people could do there

Do you really think a mod is a cheat? Then i'm playing Skyrim right now with dozens of cheats. Assuming that custom textures, armors, weapons, clothes, custom sounds for weather effects... etc, are cheats, of course.

Do you know what is a cheat? paying twice for playing online. Yeah, you are being cheated.

Aren't their more people playing this game in Xbox though? It could only be like 10% of Xbox players are <expletive deleted> but it seems like more because it's a larger number of players. Honestly I just pulled that number out of thin air, and have no idea if Xbox even has more players. I will say 90% of the time it's just dead silent...although I did make a thread just the other day about a horrible game on Xbox.

Mass Effect 3 has been my first real MP experience, and I'm really enjoying it.  I've had very few negative (I won't even call them bad) experiences, and overall, I find the PC community to be very supportive.

I suppose this further reinforces the idea that threads like this are really kind of pointless. For every XBox player who is angry enough to post a crazy story about something that happened on a forum, there are 10 players who haven't had a bad experience. For every PC player that talks mess about Origin on a forum (last I checked there were two threads on that very topic on the front page) , there's a player like you who has never had any issues. 

I will say that I consider you a lucky fellow. Connecting to Battlefield on Origin was a nightmare for me. 

well, as i said, it was a beta
and its working now, isnt it?
but well, there will always be some people who have problems but at least its nearly always possible to fix it, although sometimes its annoying as **** ^.^

I'm sure all the anecdotal forum evidence you read through is good stuff as well. *shrug* Again, I was being sarcastic. I like plenty of mods for my PC games.

For me, I just find it easier to deal with on PC. Play on desktop PC at home, laptop on the road. A lot less downtime. And I'm a cheap bastard... bought my (AMD) laptop during back-to-school season last year for <$500.

No one here is saying that everyone playing on Xbox is behaving in an obnoxious manner. The point is you run into this behavior a lot more on Xbox Live and that we are happy to not have to tolerate this kind of behavior.

Another assumption. Having played BF3 on the PC, I can definitely say from my experience that the obnoxious behavior is not limited by platform. My ME3 experience on the console has been 99% positive as far as that goes as well. I dunno. Maybe the obnoxiousness is more centralized on certain types of games.

It's what you said in that last sentence. Some genres of gaming tend to provoke obnoxious behavior more than others. Competitive multiplayer shooters and DotA style games are definitely among the worst for breeding hostility among gamers. I'm not sainyg the PC community is free of this, it just tends to be less common in many cases.
