The crate portion isn't to bad (lots of areas to move around to put objects between you and the enemies' guns)

But in silver, camping in the middle room is still ok.

No strategic experiece
+
Double Ammo boxes
+
Sniper or Nades class, needing nades refills and a better (ahem) sniping location.
+
the feeling that being in the center of the map will render the objectives like pizza delivery, Vip kills and disabling device faster (less traveling time).
+
Admiral Ackbar is not here to say : It's a Trap
=
People fall into death trap.
It is mathematic.
Well you can hold it on bronze, but on silver and higher, that is another story.

people do it on Hydra and jade too.
gears of war people NEVER stay where you start, everyone is smart enough to find agood spot to start the game.
why not on this?
and btw, those ammo boxes in the middle on gold+ only give one grenade.. every other box gives 2 or 3.

You're playing with retards.
Basically this.
Rio is a pretty crappy map, but choosing to stay in the center room even after it's blatantly obvious that you're being ovverrun is idiocy.

Overall, having experimented, I find the end closest to the anti aircraft guns is best. you can camp close to the 2 ammo bosses, 2 per side, and the foes line right up. Both of those ammo boxes generate 2 nades per pop, and the 2 spots have overlapping fields of fire if one side is looking close to getting overrun.
It's a cakewalk.

I don't understand why they like that place so much.

If I see people camping on middle, I'll just go and try solo, i won't even try revive, it's a waste of time.

because people actually say to themselves...
"well ive got great shooting lanes here, great angles on everything!"
and are content with that thought.
well yeah, so does everything else, and theres alot more of them then you.

Even when camping it's hard to resist running up there rather than waiting a day and a half for the enemy to put you into their busy schedule.

It happens to all the time. I've hosted several games where the other three all insist on camping there. They all go down several times each round, but don't seem to catch on.

The problem is people go running off in search of points. Some classes are kinda made for it too (Fury & Shadow). It doesnt make sense for them to “camp.” So it can be hard to blame them.

yeah, but if you put that into perspective, when are battles won by charging in headfirst??
with swords, yes, with guns, um no.
i will never grasp the "run to all the enemies!!!!" approach unless im doing speed runs on glacier.
im not a big FPS MP shooter player, so i think thats where the mentality comes from, but i dont mind waiting for the enemies to shoot them..
theres a big difference between a strategy and "camping"

the only class i have no issues if they decide to run around away from the group (aka doing the Rambo thing) is the Shadow. That is assuming the person playing as the Shadow knows what they are doing. NO OTHER class should be doing this imho.
but Rio....i dunno man....the middle spot/zone in sucks. you wanna go out and run up the score trying to be Billy Bad****.... then you are awesome enuff to take care of yourself SO i aint coming after you.
on the extract side....near the ammo boxes on both sides...2 person on each side....can provide fire support for the other 2...and interlocking fields of fire.
