thats why you just run up to them and light melee them!!!!! some people realize they arent helping the team and come back with you LOL.atum wrote...
Oh fwiw I'm all about the boxes. I just have a hard time telling people how to play.
except the fury, her light melee is incapable of sending a "message"
6/10 people ( totally made up that statistic) respond.

EDIT: From my experience best results i have seen for camping in the middle have been when one or two players voluntarily go to block the spawns in the EZ end of the mission area. Then the remaining players will get no flankers and can concentrate on one direction only. And almost invariably blame me for not helping them - at which point i usually bugger off to the container zone and watch the hapless idiots at the center getting wasted.

Camping The Middle Room On Rio is like camping L-shaped pipe on Condor - quick and horrible way to die.
But there is an ammo crate there too! Why did they put an ammo crate there if you werent supposed to camp it?!?
Also, Hydra starting position / "tower" tastes a lot like the above: open from 4 directions yet people insist on camping there.

I also think this game revolves around teamwork, which is something hard to find with randoms. Rio is just one of those maps that really requires teamwork to avoid revive parties.

Camping anywhere other than the farmers' plot on White or the uberl33t farmers' plot on Glacier is kinda dumb in any case. You got feet. Use 'em.

Jade has that issue as well.

"Well, you all seem to know what you're doing. I'm not going back in there. You revive yourselves if you stick there so often"
And when they all get executed by Geth Troopers and you go on to dominate the round? Well, maybe they'd learn something about not having horrendous tactics.

You shouldn't have gone back to revive them when they yelled at you. Instead, you should of retaliated with:

qft.
that is about the only way they will learn.

There are 2 spawn areas on either side of that map with the main spawn coming from the crates Players will run to spawning areas kill everything and then hunt the stragglers down . If you hang out in that room you are not going to see a lot of action Because you are dead

It's a completely advantageous spot to camp, though, if 1-2 players would stay a bit at the back (the side were the cannons are) to prevent enemies from spawning there. Otherwise, it's always best to stay by the generators.

if you werent standing in the middle, the enemies would spawn there, and you wouldnt have to fall back and wait for them.Hyperglide wrote...
The reason why people camp there is so they know where the enemies spawn. It's the perfect spot to find out where the enemies start spawning. But if you stay there mid round then you are an idiot. I start at the middle so I know where the 1st waves are coming from. Then I prepare to fallback once they close in. But it's a good way to take down some minor mobs until the heavy hitters start closing in.
not directed at "you" personally.
thats everyone that thinks standing there at all between waves is a good idea.
if they werent standing in the middle and ran back to where the others are they spawn there.

TLDR:
-Played Rio with randoms
-Asked them if they wanted to take a side of the map instead of the middle room
-Rude people in game
-Had to solo rounds 5,6,and 7
-Was blamed for them being overtaken in that room, despite my best efforts to help them defend it.

So I just had a lovely game on Rio (silver) playing with randoms U/U. I wanted to take my claymore batarian out for a spin, and right off the bat (no pun intended) I notice everyone camping the middle room. It's the Geth and I hate them plenty with most characters, but batarians just get stunlocked to oblivion. I go on the mic and suggest that we choose one of the sides so that enemies can only come at us from one direction. Not only was I "wrong" but apparently I am also "stupid". Fine, whatever, I'll camp the room with these people who clearly are super elite (they appeared to all be friends). Waves 1-4 no problems, it's pretty easy. After that...things started to get messy. I stayed in the room with them as long as possible, but when enemies attack you from all sides (some of which are invisible) it becomes hard to hold that position. These guys simply would NOT fall back out of that room, so what happens? I end up soloing rounds 5,6, and 7. Wave 6 was 1234 objective (not fun at all). The following rounds where pretty much just a congo line people constantly going down, and again I suggested we maybe move to one side of the map (politely) to which I was met with "Maybe if you f***ing revived the team once in a while this wouldn't be so bad" ......MMMMKay! Match ends and guess who has the most revives? Well it wasn't any of them. I'm not saying this cause I'm so awesome and everyone else sucks, in fact I'm not great, and that was frustrating as hell.
[/rant]
So the question is, why do people hold that room? Am I truly an idiot for thinking it best if enemies have to walk down an assembly line for which we can shoot them from safety?
You're not wrong, the middle is the worst part to be. Personaly, I like the side with all the crates, great cover back there.

Then again, I usualy am able to pull of the middle camping, but you have to kill fast.
