Try Final Fantasy 13. Its just as shallow, linear, and useless as Dragon Age 2.

EDIT: Just realized you said on Wii or PC. Try Skyrim its ok and Dawnguard was just released. Its miles better than DA 2 just because of the sandbox nature of the game. Though honestly if you want a better Elder Scrolls game try Morrowind. The story is far superior to Skyrim. For Wii my pick would be Twilight Princess as that is the only Wii game I have played on my Wii. It usually just sits and collects dust and sometimes gets used as a Netflix steaming device.

Same gameplay as Dragon Age 2? Good luck. I don't think there's any other action-RPG game out there with similar combat to DA2.

RPG-Based and Long Storyline? Baldur's Gate 1, Baldur's Gate 2, Planescape: Torment, Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity, Neverwinter Nights, Neverwinter Nights Shadows of Undrentide, Neverwinter Nights Hordes of The Underdark, Arx Fatalis, Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga, Two Worlds II, The Witcher 2 and Dark Souls.

Baldur's Gate series, Planescape, Beyond Divinity and Neverwinter Nights are all party-based like Dragon Age. Divine Divinity, Divinity II and Two Worlds II allows for summoned followers. Dark Souls is coming out for the PC soon and while it's not party-based, you can summon NPC's in some cases to help you and you can also team up with friends and create a custom party to go and explore.

Baldur's Gate is being re-released this September as the Enhanced Edition and features improved graphics and new content so there's really no reason why you shouldn't try it if you haven't already.

There is also Mount and Blade but it's a sandbox RTS/RPG where you get to control troops and fight at the same time as your character. You can also find companions who have their own backgrounds, stories and views and they can be fully customized but don't go in expecting anything amazing or great with their stories. Gameplay wise it is an RPG in that you have statistics, weapon skills and other skills including passive skills. You also get to customize your character and choose their gender (some modules allow you to choose your race too).

As of right now, this is also the only one that comes to mind that's similar to the second Dragon Age.

Also, I think most games don't like Dragon Age 2. :)

Don't you mean most gamers?

Oh and forget about using IMHO. Use IMO from now on and you'll never have to worry about thinking you're a ho again.

I think Mass Effect 3 is more akin to Dragon Age 2 in that it focuses on dialogue. Mass Effect 2 still had lots of dialogue and meaningful choices.

I haven't finished it yet, but i hear Kingdoms of Amalur is quite good. Skyrim, is also one my friends would recommend.

Mass Effect, 1 and 2, are something i, personally, would recommend. Though it's not in the standard fantasy setting of Dragon Age 2, it holds a number of similarities.

A lot of people like The Witcher games, personally not a fan, but they might be your thing.

Soul Calibur 4. Anime`ish characters. Oversized weapons. Slash someone with a dagger and they are sendt flying. Jump 30 feet in the air while wearing plate armour. Same ending no matter what you do.

Kingdoms of Amalur. Pretty decent game, if your main interest is being an uber hero who crushes everything in his path.

Take that trash off the list please. That game was the worst game I've ever played ever.

13-2 isn't too bad, it's quite fun. Although once you finish the game and have nothing left to do except to grind for achievements it's a bit bleh :<.
13-2 DLC has costume downloads of the N7 armour and Ezio's outfit for Noel.
They also went with a very Christmas-y theme in that game XD.

Dungeon Siege 1 and 2 (plus expansions) Party based action RPG's. I know the first one also had a seperate multiplayer/co-op map that was huge if you like that sort of thing.

Good fun but no where near Bioware level of storytelling and companions.

Well, 52 pickup is alot like DA 2, all you need is a deck of cards.

Dungeon Siege 1 and 2

I'd also seriously suggest the 3rd one.

It has pre-defined heroes so there's no customization, there's no party combat either, but it is fast paced and a heck of a lot of fun to play and, in my opinion, the story is better than most Bioware games.

I'd also advise Jade Empire, it has fast paced combat and it is, in my opinion, the best written Bioware game. So colourful, so deep, so unique and fun. My god, i really need to replay it.

A good and classic RPG that has turn based combat, very particular setting and an interesting story is Arcanum. I loved it! Its recommended to patch it with the last community update cause it can be quite buggy.

Xenoblade Chronicles. It has personal conversations, you can raise/lower the affection of companions, it's a hybrid of action/pause party-based combat, etc.

I don't know why people are listing games in which the only similarity to DA2 is there are swords.

Try The Witcher out.

If there was ANY game I wanted Dragon Age to take tips from it would be The Witcher.

I use to hate it when people would criticize Dragon Age (cause I love DA) and boast about The Witcher on the DA forums but then I played the game and I can see what people mean, I hope some of the DA developers have played it

What?

On-topic: there are none that would be as disappointing as DA ][, imaho.

I think Jade Empire and DA2 have a lot in common. So much that I've gone as far as to wonder if some of the canned Jade Empire 2's assets crept their way into Dragon Age 2.
