I was banned unjustly, and I plan to find out why.

Missile glitchers are easy to spot, but 'credit grabers'? impossible.

I guess I just never got good enough at multiplayer to notice what any other player was doing...unless he was bleeding out, then I ran right over and revived him.

@OP @steej > wow, some scary story you're telling here, i'm sorry for you.
You should definitely at least get a clear explanation about this, instead of speculating here with us.
For shame.

Are you using a modded Coalesced file for SP purposes maybe?

No I'm not using a modded anyting.

I did change seom things in ME1 come to think of it, and used that save file through the whole saga, into ME3.
Could that have something to do with it?

You mean via Gibbed save editor?
I doubt it could have any impact.
I was thinking godlike mode and unlimited ammo rather Image IPB

Apparently I have been banned too but the thing is that I haven't played since the last operation weekend (or whatever they call it)...

While I dont believe for a second that all of you were banned unjustly, I do believe BW make mistakes with their bans, and that plenty of innocent gamers have been caught in the crossfire of their manual banning procedure too.

The responses from the team that look into it are simply not good enough. The dont have to tell you why you were banned, but it would be helpful for them to at least state roughly what it is (i.e. "Banned for multiple use of tier 3 glitch. Follow this link to see what constitutes as tier 3")

Hmm...I dont like it, but it's better than what I'm getting at the moment, so yeah, I'd take that (with a frown) BUT they'd be hard pushed to convince me that is the case in my situation as i have not cheated (believe it or not).

Makes me think they can't find out why they banned me and out of some kind of Solidarity are circling the waggons to protect someone’s mistake.

In my eyes and as part of a small group of developers, "circling the wagons" is another mistake when it comes to working with your customers. It's behavior that suggests that you believe that you are always right, and that the customer is always wrong.

Here's a fact: Admitting that a mistake has been made goes a LONG way towards building goodwill with a community. Granted, the "internet" will ding you constantly over the admission, but it's better as a company to be treated as a honest person than to be treated with constant, unjust suspicion.

I should add that because I'm Deaf, I won't ever, EVER know if someone's talking in my game. Ever. It's impossible for me to identify cheaters because I'm more focused on staying the hell alive when a bunch of Geth are firing rockets at me.

It doesn't help that there's no text chat feature at all in ME3 MP. (Origin doesn't count, sir. You need to have friended the people in your game to even be able to communicate.)

Either way, the current disconnection issue is preventing me from actually playing a game from start to finish anyway...

New discovery; the ban prevents you accessing the galaxy at war map in single player, because it pulls the data from the EA server.

This is completly unaceptible.
Ban someone from MP if you must, but you cant touch their single player game!
You've gone too far. You affected my single player game.

Yup just as steej said, by banning someone playing MP, BW have just taken away the whole game from you, because you can't get the perfect ending anymore. So I think BW have violated afew different things.

Part of the issue is that if one person does a credit hack thing on a match, everyone else in the match (whether they knew about the person doing it or not) gets banned.

Also it would be nice if they told you the first time specifically what you were banned for. =/

-coming from someone who hasn't been banned. I did end up in a credit hack game once, but left the second I realized what was going on- not banned. Go me :D

Sheesh! These horror stories make me not want to play the multiplayer anymore. I mostly just stick to bronze difficulty and I am obviously not technical enough in multiplayer to understand when a glitch is taking place. To know that I could possibly be banned for doing nothing wrong is terrible. Shame on you Bioware and EA!

I have had a simmilar issue, along with other players. I e-mailed bioware asking about the issue and recieved a reply from Ernest Tse:
Hello,

I have taken a look into your account and can confirm that you have been banned for exploiting multiplayer. We take cheating very seriously and we have decided that this ban will be permanent.

Regards,

Ernest Tse

Problem is I personally have not engaged in any "exploitative" behaviors that I know of. Send an E-mail to me3accountadmin@bioware.com and tell them about your issue. If you get the same reply that I got, I believe there is a very good chance that there may be a glitch in the banning system used by bioware; if this is the case then this issue MUST be brought to bioware's attention.

Moral of the story? Avoid EA games in the future. Especially if it's developed by the current BioWare.

As far as i know, everyone got the same reply mate.

Whats more, go check your single player game.  The galactic readiness and war assests are FUBAR too.

This has forced me to not buy Leviathan DLC.
Pointless if i cant increase my EMS, right?

Such a shame the love affear with MassEffect has to end this way. :crying:

Moral of the story? Don't cheat in online multiplayer games.

Other moral of the story? Even if you don't edit your ini, missle glitch, or do other exploits yourself, if you roll with people who do and benefit from it, IT'S STILL CHEATING!!! They will let it slide if you end up in a lobby and play a game or two without noticing, but if you spend an evening benefitting from a missle glitcher, it's on you and you are a cheater!

If you didn't notice you were being carried by a guy shooting 30 missles per round, one-shotting atlas' with pistols, immune to enemy fire or earning a million credits per victory, you are either a liar or incredibly stupid!
