I was banned unjustly, and I plan to find out why.

Moral of the story? Don't cheat in online multiplayer games.

Other moral of the story? Even if you don't edit your ini, missle glitch, or do other exploits yourself, if you roll with people who do and benefit from it, IT'S STILL CHEATING!!! They will let it slide if you end up in a lobby and play a game or two without noticing, but if you spend an evening benefitting from a missle glitcher, it's on you and you are a cheater!

If you didn't notice you were being carried by a guy shooting 30 missles per round, one-shotting atlas' with pistols, immune to enemy fire or earning a million credits per victory, you are either a liar or incredibly stupid!

I am neither a liar or incredibly stupid.

I have reported your post, I will not be spoken to in such a way.

Uhh, I am QUITE sure I was not cheating, and I PROBABLY would have noticed if someone had 3 bazillion missiles.

This is why I ditch lobbies where the game looked a little off, like some guys gun is firing even though he isn't, or I get hit with a lag problem so severe I float off the map.

Thanks for the info on the max credits for each level, I shall have to keep an eye out for anyone earning more than that, would that be the reason some people bail on the round results listing?

Hey I''ve seen this! I thought it was something to do with my crummy connection. The person's gun was flashing all the time even when they were just moving around before the wave starts! Fortunately I never stay with a PUG through more than 3 games seening as I do have things to do around the house. I often do PUG's due to the difficulties I encounter in the Invite's Joining screen. It seems a bit drastic to ban a person by association if you don't know the other squadmates are cheating! I'm not a veteran multiplayer, here's to hoping I don't get caught in the crossfire by association. Sheesh! Oh and by the way LandoCalrisian, wake up and smell the coffee please. Not all of us are eagle eyed Platinum players. I'm a totally casual bronze player and the only cheats I can recognise up to this point is the missile glitch. I'm too busy trying not to bleed out to waste time watching my squad's every move.

And what if a player is that naive? Why should that he be held accountable for somebody else's wrong doing? It's EA's job to implement safety measures to prevent cheating in their games. They can't even fix the various bugs that have been plaguing the PC version for months let alone prevent cheating.

No. The only incredibly stupid thing here is your ignorant comment.
You apologists couldn't be any more despicable.

When I worked on the anti-cheat team for CS and CS Source, we would check and re-check to make sure AND we would tell the person complaining about the ban specifically what they were banned for....i.e. wallhack, esp hack, aimbot, ect. We wouldn't give them the proof we had but we did submit our ban decisions to another staff member to review if it was disputed. If we both agreed, then the player stayed banned. If not, we unbanned them and just watched them closely. The last thing we wanted to do is to ban a good player.

"You were exploiting" is a lazy, vague and probably erroneous on occasion statement. It makes the staff look like draconian dictators that arbitrarily ban people to get their aggression out. I am willing to bet that almost every ban is deserved but they still look bad with the way the go about distributing the bans. I also agree that if you have played bronze matches and then go play one where you are getting 1M credits per match, that staying more then one match with the cheater is exploiting the game itself. I do think those bans should have a time limit on them for the first occurrence....say 1 week. The players that cause those exploits to happen need the perm bans though. cheaters suck.

Yes, everything posted in the "Mass Effect 3 PC Technical Support" forum is about issues on the Xbox; why wouldn't it be?

About the Missile Glitch:

As far as I know that is a Xbox/PS3 issue only?

If so. whatsdafus' question was justified. Missile Glitch can't be an issue for PC players. No need to tease him for that.

Is this related to the issue of unauthorized DLC content and redeem password for online play? I think then I may have been banned withouth warning or notice... out of all matches ever... I've entered in only 2 credit hack games, the first I knew something wrong was happening, the second one it was a normal game that at the end had more credits.... I don't think I cheated, I didn't know I was playing in an exploited game, or the benefit to be obtained afterwards, I didn't even entered through a game lobby, I went directly to the started game.

That exploit is a console exclusive. This is the PC forum.

Moderators moderate forums. They are volunteers who don't work for BioWare or EA so they can't do anything about this. Developers rarely post in the tech support forums because, as the forum description says, this is a user-to-user forum.

This thread made me unfriend all on my list I dont personally know....actually joined a match this afternoon from one and had some serious "lag like" occurinng like I've never had before, I'd be in one place, then another, then another....but my point of view never changed and the enemies stayed normal, it didnt happen much, but if I remember right it was on the money missions, however I cashed out normally for a silver run.

As someone who is addicted to ME3 MP this scares me....I dont cheat, and only modificications I'v done are graphical...I've even refrained from trying High Res Textures with texmod as I was warned it may ban me from MP....BIOWARE...PLEASE give us a first party HRT pack ...pretty please!!!!

Good luck to all flasely banned.

Aside from legal action I dont have any. Mass bannings without clear explanation is very suspect way to operate....though probably the cheapes/easiest. Bot flags behavoir, a few sets of eyes glance at them and you live or die....as the eyes get more tired, the more arbitrary the descion.....scary thought.

Wish I nver saw this thred actually, as now every little glitch ( and we all know there tons of em) make me nervous if I'm going to be caught in the next wave. I've had several glitches happen to me such as die, fall though the map and land with full health at the starting point but I dont know how to trigger it on demand...nor do I want to...not solely for fear of th ban hammer...but in princapal....first, if I cant succeed doing things legit...I'll either improve or quit.

On a side note if cheating is this rampant, why dont they do like Rockstar did with Max Payne 3....and bannish cheaters to cheater only servers and let them do as they please there....that way they can still play at least.

legal action would just line some legal eagle's pockets, its part of the ToS that you cant sue them for anything relateing to the game.

the banning system does seam to leave a lot to be desired, and as for nieavety, how would you know if a game is credit hacked when you receive just a few more credits per game than normal considering that they fluctuate from 12k to 18.5k on bronze, 23k to 38k for silver, most i had in a gold so far was 79k and plat i only played 5 matches that completed, but really since the system calculates on the fly what your going ot get its not exactly possible to know its a dodgy game, sometimes i stay in lobbies wiht people because things are going well (were workign as a team and finishing the game) i have no idea if someone is credit hacking because the stupid system always gives a different ammount as a reward, it doesnt even seem to matter how good or bad you do, weather you use all your consumables or none, solo'd a bronze match using everything and earned 17.5k soled one useing nothing (different char/loadout) and earned only 12.5k but hey ho i know i wasnt hacking in either yet i got different rewards for them both

unless i get more than 20k for bronze more thna 40k for silver more than 90k for gold more than 140k for plat i'm not going to be aware someone is credhacking.

if bioware were that serious about this sort of thing they would of changed the game so it gave a fixed prize based onthe number of rounds completed regardless of awards during completion (which they dont) they would also add some kind of game guard system, instead they just interogate logs which are flaged by there database miner and investigate/sanction en-masse, thats fine for console players but pc gamers can be protected in a variety of ways simple things like punkbuster which would auto eject someone who's "legit" from a dodgy game, and flag the host as "dodgy"

and the whole guilty by association thing is a bit of a stretch unless your playing every match wiht the same people day in day out, using a delination of more than 2 games is rather poor especially as origin is such utter junk it causes 90% of the lag induced glitches experianced in games.......

maybe if Bioware actually fixed the explouiting that can happen in the game, people wouldn't do it.
Instead people get banned for using an in-game glitch that the Bioware is too lazy to fix, or lack the understanding to do so.

look at the list of "fixes" coming in the next patch.

if any other company had that many problems, their product would not make it to stores. and again, that is one patch, not all the problems since day 1, the majority still are not fixed.

seriously, shepard shadow getting in and out of an atlas? how about a bug that doesnt allow faces or decsions to import?
