to clarify i loaded SP after the servers went down. also like i said, i dont know if it works differently on PC, so i apologize if i made an incorrect assumption.

They had to OFFLINE the server

AFTER I extracted but before i receive the credits.

i was like WTF.

I was in that game with you. A few more seconds and we would have got our credits. Grrrr.

I was mid game as well. What the f*** is with EA servers always going down? When I used to play COD MW2 theirs was on like 24/7 lol.

Is this a maintenance time or what?

I can't play single player on PC since it checks DLC before the game starts up and I can't load a previous save since they're all with the latest DLC. I'm wondering if this has something to do with the origin update and saving in the cloud now? Or perhaps it was always that way and i never noticed.
Either way it's annoying that no sever = no single player. Personally I don't plan on playing ME3 on any other PCs so I could do without losing BOTH at the same time.

This is... interesting. I experienced several instances when even ea.com would not load for me over the past few days (these periods stretching for hours). At least it did not affect gaming servers. But it certainly looks like they are having some serious troubles with their server farms.

Putting Origin in offline mode should allow you to play SP with DLCs no problem. Give it a shot, you should be able to pass the downtime that way

I know it worked with From Ashes, other DLCs should work too.

It looks like at the very least, their watchdog service isn't responding. For those of a more technical bent, you can ping heartbeat.dm.origin.com. This is usually the cause of the ME3 server disconnects as it regularly checks-in to that server while the game is running. Presumably if you're game doesn't get a response for any reason it disconnects you...

(one interesting thing to note is that most of the Origin infrastructure routes to Amazon EC2 instances, or more accurately ELB's in front of EC2 instances...)

Well, that sucks. Went to play ME3 again after getting a PS3 and playing some of the exclusives, return to find I can't play the game I wanted to. Back to the PS3, then.

It's really put me off playing ME3 again now, when I want to play, it's offline. Honestly, if this isn't something major and important, and if we are compensated for the downtime, I might just quit. It's letdown after letdown, "we're sorry but we won't fix major glitches" after "these people are costing us money, we'll sort them out, but not patch the game or remove some of the most major glitches". Bioware sincerely fail at maintaining a multiplayer game, and with all due respect to them, they should have hired some other people to do all the multiplayer work and maintenance, since they clearly aren't very good it at.

They did say on the forums that the servers would be offline from 7pm to morning...
Luckily I got Diablo 3 to play for the moment!
