Well the "friendslist completely gone" is fixed - at least for me. People not showing up in your friendslist though their profile says you are friends is still there. (Or was still there last night.)

Edit: Well that one person I was missing seems to be "back" as well. So it either was fixed or it fixed itself, like some others described in the thread.

Edit2: Ignore what I just said... Sorry to hear that walrus!

My friends list was blank when I logged in just now, then I relogged and it was full again. Soooo... it's still being temperamental.

Well, i'd gotten used to having nothing but problems with Origin/EA but then i kinda got used it. But now this is just taking it to a whole new level. Really wish they'd (better, idk) test their products before they force it down our throats.

Friendlists were OP due to enabling efficiently winning games (=earning credits).
That's why the lists got nerfed

my friend had this same problem the other day, we tried everything to get her origin working.
she went to origin customer support and they ended up going through a list of fixes and troubleshooting and nothing worked.

turns out her anti virus was on when we though it was off.
turned it off and it was fixed. may not be the same problem you guys are having but double... triple check your ani virus program is off.

Well..... I guess I'm gonna bump this again, so we at least can play with SOME of our friends... <_<

If you have any way in getting in touch with any of your friends, weather it's here, TeamSpeak and so on, create a new game, set it to WORST possible game, fx. Goddess, Reaper, Platinum, and set it to private.. Then tell your friends to be ready, and tell them what to search for in a public game.. When they're ready, set it to public and then give them a GO.. If youre having trouble cordinating having them all to connect at the same time.. Feel free to use the chat on our HOMEPAGE Under LiveStream... Just click the pen, write your name and then chat.. No login needed... Then you're all writing eachother on the same time.. :kissing:
It works for us.. If someone joins, that is not intended, ask them politely to leave, they will understand..

Follow this....

First delete C:\\ProgramData\\Origin\\Logs\\Client_log.xml first.

Then re-launch Origin and login wait for a while.

1. Send an email with your Settings file and Origin Logs attached:
a. Navigate to this directory: C:\\Users\\{Windows User name}\\AppData\\Roaming\\Origin
b. Attach the most recent local.xml file to your email.
c. Navigate to this directory: C:\\ProgramData\\Origin\\Logs
d. Attach the Client_log file to your email.
e. Attach the OriginClientService_Log file to your email.
f. Navigate to this directory: C:\\ProgramData\\Electronic Arts\\EA Core\\prefs
g. Attach the Origin.ini to your email.
2. Are you running multiple hard drives?
3. If so, tell us as much detail as you can about the configuration:
a. Is your main C: drive an SSD?
b. Is Origin installed on your main C: drive or a secondary drive?
c. Do you install Origin games on your main drive or secondary drive?
d. Any special permissions settings for these drives (available to all users, admins only or only a specific Windows user account)?
4. Screenshots or exact text of any error messages would also be helpful.
5. A screenshot of running processes may also be helpful. Bring up your Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+ESC). Click the Processes tab and sort by Image Name and make sure we can see the entire name of the .exe. If it takes two screenshots to see the entire list that's fine.

Attach the screenshots along with the other Origin files mentioned above and send the completed bug report to Originlogs@ea.com. Please use the subject line [Origin Logs] [Origin 9.0 error] Friendlist doesn't show

Great suggestion, Sabina, I may end up trying this. Origin is still broken on my machine this morning. According to this thread, EA is advising people to:

"First delete C:\\ProgramData\\Origin\\Logs\\Client_log.xml first.

Then re-launch Origin and login wait for a while."

I can't find Client_log.xml anywhere on my machine, maybe that's the problem? The rest of his post details how you can help them with the bug testing they apparently forgot about <_<

EDIT: ninja'd

Trying this now. For those who can't find ProgramData, it's a hidden folder so enable the visibility option of hidden folders by going to Organize->Folder and Search Options->Click on 'View' Tab and selec 'View hidden files and folders'

EDIT : The directions stated are for Windows 7 OSes.

Yeah, but unfortunately this is not a fix.. It's a help to EA troubleshooting the issue..... <_<

I'm happy this worked for you. I've already turned off cloud storage and am still getting this problem. Guess I'll try enabling it and disabling it again? If anyone has any better suggestions, I'm all ears :P

EDIT: cloud storage settings don't seem to make a difference, and trying to view my profile or interact with the Friends List in any way throws up "Temporarily Unavailable" messages.

Wait, you were actually able to get past the endless loop in the Friends list section?

It's broken again for me. It was fixed before after I had redownloaded and reinstalled.

Yep, like i said before here or on the sister thread, this only works at times and only upon your first login after reinstalling Origin, if you log out and try logging back in, you're done for. And now, reinstalling also doesnt work, tried it like 5 times already.

Eventually it times out, and gives you the charming "You have no friends!" message in your Friends List. I went to my profile, where could see the short list of my friends and games. Trying to interact with anything (like Show All Friends) then gave me the Temporarily Unavailable message. I don't know how long it takes to stop trying; I only noticed it had timed out when I came back from lunch.

Edited for grammar
