I have never used the glyph line simply because there are so many other things I like. My group usually only has one mage, and there are a lot of other things that I think are more important to have.
Cold line, Mind Blast (prison) line, blood mage line and/or spirit healer line, first three spells in the heal line, I really like curse of mortality, mana clash, etc etc. If you use 2hand you want your mage to have haste, then I like the para/miasma/mass para line.
how i have lived until now without glypths..no more.

Also against bloodmages its equally as effective as against nonbloodmages, since it entirely prevents spellcasting within its bounds, including blood magic. And against most mage mobs, they don't bother even moving out of its sphere of influence, so they're as good as dead barring their staff hits.
Stronger ones do move, I'm pretty certain. Some emissaries, for example. Caladrius, too.
Two specific encounters in which I found Glyph of Neutralization particularly ineffective were the fight in the deserted building in Denerim and one with Caladrius. And they're all blood mages. Caladrius, for example, moved away from the glyph, turned Blood Magic on and cast Blood Wound. It looked pretty bad.
