Not saying it's likely to be implemented in the MP, but there are ways you could have it implemented.

It's plausible that the races started creating AI soldiers with platforms like EDI. You need every resource to fight the Reapers, right?

I would not do that. Way too easy for Reapers to hack and send them back to infiltrate. Like Terminators

I kinda agree, but also think that creating actual AIs would be not only too expensive for the war effort, but playing with fire specially in a post-geth war galaxy.
Virtual Intelligences, on the other hand, I can see happening. They are legal, and actually used in battle ships, other vehicles, and platforms. It would be a simple excuse, though. In the end, we would be the ones controlling them, so they wouldn't be as intellectually limited as the VIs in the Mass Effect universe.

Given the state of the galactic economy its extremely unlikely that resources would be poured into creating AI's. Using VI's is something that I could see being done albeit in poor taste. Its such a cop out excuse and the only robots that would be likely would either be way OP (YMIR) or need such a buff (Loki) it doesn't seem worth it. I'm also not sure if a VI would have the functional capability to take on intense combat situations but thats speculation.

Id prefer more geth (and or a female turian -.-) we could very easily get a 'mini-prime' geth soldier
This. A thousand times, this. Still, I think it'd be more than fair if the "mini-prime" was UR. Female turian would be awesome, too, since there's no logical reason in the lore as to why we haven't seen one yet. Pretty sure they'd debut in SP first, though.
