Are you REALLY that scared of piracy? On a game 3 years old? Seriously?

If you have installed the 1.05 patch, then you can absolutely play offline all the time without your DLC becoming unauthorized. Simply log in the game, make sure your DLC is authenticated, and log out... making sure to uncheck the auto login setting.

So yes, you can play without being dependent on the wonky servers... if you don't try to connect to the wonky servers.
