I hate to sound mean and smug but low level players and newcomers. Know your place. It is in Bronze and Silver games, not in the gold. Almost every gold game I go to, there is at least one N7<40 player as lvl. 8 character without equipment and armed with mantis/katana/shuriken/avenger lvl. 1.

Go play in the bronze and silver until you get better weapons and equipment, until that you are a burden for the squad. Not that I wouldn't ever make mistakes and ***** things up royally but those are because of pure stupidity or a simple fail. Also when ever I promote a character and start from scratch I level up to level 13-15 in silver before heading to gold so I get skillpoints to health, powers and weapon damage.

Please don't get offended, this more like advise to make multiplayer more enjoyable for all of us, when you get equipped to handle tougher enemies with ease then welcome aboard. And remember even world #1 player was once a "noob" :)

Dont take offence but who the fk do you think you are, you have no right to tell others where to play and you should keep your mouth shut
but hey dont take offence! just mind your own bIZiness

And like others have stated you have a low end Rank and Manifest thus you should go back to Bronze

but hey no offence

One guy joined my gold level 55, I never kick, gave him a chance and now he's on my team, all I can say he is one hell of a player, enough said, don't judge a book by it's cover, everyone needs a chance, we were all there once, ive seen higher levels far worse than low levels, so to me it makes no difference.

Apparently you don't know your place either if you died before the "noob" did.

I generally give everyone a shot and don't vote to kick anyone the first time around, but when a N7 30 is hiding in the corner of FB Ghost and won't come out from cover to revive a guy who is down not 15 steps away, so I have to run from across the map where I was kiting a Banshee away from him, back to revive the downed guy. I don't mind giving anyone a shot in gold, but for the love of all that is good get out of your hidey hole and revive the guy who is holding off the rest of the mooks for you ffs.

Agreed. More tactical thinking people tend to use forums, or those who require information. There are sometimes those exceptions where noobs do use forums first.

It's more like nerds (myself included) tend to use the forums.  All this bickering about noobs is falling on deaf ears as everyone posting here most likely knows how to play.  I count my brother among the type of player who just jumps in and plays and never visits a forum.  His point is "it is a place where a bunch of nerds go to complain about everything".  Come to think about it, he has a point.

The fact that this post has 5 stars says less than stellar things about the community.

I won't kick anyone if they're level 8. I've carried gold with a level 12 GI before, so I know people can do that sort of thing. If its platinum, however, that's a different story.

Honestly, i think anybody below a class level 18 should not be going into gold/plat lobbies. Sure, you can argue they are skilled all you want, but the truth is they will preform better at level 18-20 than level 8. I don't make my lobbies so you can level up. I make them to get credits and i keep my characters at 20 to play at my best with randoms. I expect the same. Play with friends if you want to level up in gold because i'm not here to do that for somebody i don't even know.

And level x weapons are important that are tailor to your class in order to get good cool downs.

Agreed. I also think that it's interteresting to see that the OP claims that he was attempting to not start a conflict, but the title has the words "know your place".

Ok, so maybe the OP's tone and phrasing wasn't the best but he is raising a good point. And yes, having paid for your game you are entitled to do whatever you please. It boils down to courtesy and an honest self-assessment. It is incredibly discourteous to be a drag to the other 3 players, especially if they have to burn consumables just to complete the match that otherwise they may not have used.

There's nothing wrong with playing bronze. It's a great place to learn and it can still be challenging, especially if you're new or trying out a new build / character / weapon. Hell, I'm moderately experienced and I still play bronze if I'm unsure of how to play a new build. I actually rarely play Gold PUGs now because it just wasn't fun to spend half my time reviving and the other half trying to keep from being overrun. Even Silver can get interesting when the other players are finishing with 20-30k pts.

TLDR: be courteous of your fellow players, stick with bronze for a while and move up when you're finishing that with ease.

I think part of the problem is that the default difficulty setting is 'random'.

WHY IS IT RANDOM. In what circumstance would anyone what a random difficulty? The playstyles are completely different! There's no point bring a slow heavy hitter to a Bronze because they're all mooks that die with a puff of air. You're better off avoiding classes that kill clouds of mooks when playing Gold/Platinum - ESPECIALLY Platinum - because they're are less (no OR) mooks even THERE.

If you're in a lobby with so-called noobs then leave. If the vets outnumber a lone noob then kick if you please. Just stop crying. I play gold and know enough not to step in platinum but that's just me most people start off and want to buy those PSP's so they'll take a chance to get in to a lobby and be carried to the prize than play and wipe on bronze with players closer to their skill level and get nothing. Blame the store if you really want to point a finger.

I must say i agree. although i do not give a sh*t about N7 rank, i want at least a lvl 14 character in gold matches, as before the powers are sucky and weapons do not make up for it. it is anoyying losing a spot in the game because of a "noob" who dies constantly without leaving (note: this is in general, as i have met low level characters who are ridiculously good)

I saw a level 1(N7 level:1) in a gold lobby today.  A couple in silver lobbies as well.  Just left the gold lobby and just played the silvers.

. . .Have you been living in a cave?

Seriously though, a unch of those people were missile glitchers, or missile glithcer's frineds who heard about how "easy" Gold is, and who now think "I'm going to go on Gold, everyone will carry me no problem".

I encounter a good few people who are looking to be carried through Gold (usually one every two or so games), but all of them have had N7 levels of 100+, most of which were around 140-180.

Level one with N71 in a Platinum lobby, at least 4 times...

Platinum lobbies are a different story. I'm referring specifically to Gold lobbies.

One beginner in a gold lobby is okay with me, if the rest of the team is at least competent odds are we'll still make it to extraction. At least half the time though the low N7 player quits within the first few waves, which makes me think they either searched for "unknown" difficulty, or just wanted to see what gold was like. In both cases a warning thread like this isn't really going to help.

I used to play on Xbox and had scrubs like you constantly telling me to get out of gold because of my N7 level when I started playing on PS3.

I've run into some of them and once I carried them with my new N7 level they sent me friends requests or would send me "nice job" messages when I had to clutch it out, because you N7 level ****s are atrocious at this game.

Did you ever think maybe not everyone is new and that some people might just be playing on a new account/system?

Thought that was a bit harsh, until I saw his consumables.  0 medi-gel and 8 rockets.

I play for fun. But I do have a pet peeve with higher rank N7s going off on their own thinking they can handle it because they are a seasoned player and falling, expecting someone to come and revive them. Which of course some do and then they go down. And like some posters have said, there have been times where I am trying to level up a character in bronze and they put me in the middle of a gold game. Not much you can do there other than pray you don't die. And as for weapons, I have a Saber 1 but I do pretty well with it compared to alot of players that have weapons maxed out. It just all depends. Play for fun. Have a good time.

1) All players should feel free to join whatever difficulty they want.  But if they look like they can't handle it, they shouldn't be surprised or upset if/when they get kicked.  No one is obligated to play with you.

2) OP is also kick-worthy in gold+.  No medi-gels = gtfo.
