OMG. N00b here. having played the game 5 times already I continued to the landsmeet like i always do, though this time i only took Alistar with me, i mean, why bring anyone else since their presence is superfluous?

Imagine my horror when Anora denounced me and Logan ordered my arrest! EEP!  Then all hell breaks loose and me with little back up! that ****!

Lol! I actually broke out into a sweat! What the hell should I do!
oh yeah, hit "reload" game.

I remember reading that, that situation could happen but never thought it would happen to me.  I realized what triggered thiis ending and went back and fixed it.  To bad real life dosn't have a "re-do" ability.:P

I think it wouldn't have been such a problem for you to win the fight, despite only the two of you being there. Arl Eamon and some of the guards join you, if I remember correctly. When I lost the Landsmeet during my second playthrough, a lot of Loghain's guards didn't even pay attention to me because there were other targets present. The fight was such a mess. Despite that, I wouldn't say it was difficult to win. Just focus on Loghain and once he falls, you're done fighting. I was more frustrated with the game lagging, thanks to the horde of NPCs that suddenly swarmed the area, than with the fight itself. None of my companions fainted, even though I let them have some fun on their own. Loghain was so swamped with allied NPCs, who, moreover, pushed him into a corner, I couldn't get more than one of my characters close enough to at least steal a stab. Hah, that was fun.

Speaking of which, can anybody tell me if there's a way to present all the evidence you have gathered? Or are you bound to get only one chance before Loghain gets hysteric? I don't remember my first playthrough, but during the second and third one, I only managed to pick one before Loghain brings up Anora who shows up seconds later, only to move the focus of the argument elsewhere.

Should be two. He'll ask what Fereldan honour is worth, you say something, then you can bring up one piece of evidence -- like Howe torturing Nobles -- then he says something in response, then you come with the next piece -- like him hiring Jowan to poison Eamon -- then he responds and goes on to ask about Anora.

At least that's my usual progression through the Landsmeet (effective and flows well); I don't know if maybe Anora comes earlier if you use other arguments.

I think you almost always win the landsmeet if you talk about the blight being the main problem in the first argument, slavery on the 2nd argument and poisoning eamon on the 3rd (which gets the grand cleric's input which is worth a lot). The first argument you can't bring up any evidence, only the 2nd and 3rd.

@Vanilka - No, it's not possible as there are only three rounds of debate. There are many permutations for winning, the grand cleric's denunciation of loghain and anora's support netting most points. Without anora's allegiance, only way to win is by mentioning the blight, the torture scandal and poisoning of eamon, plus securing all allegiances beforehand through quests.

Does anyone know if there is a way to actually 'win' the Landsmeet? Because everytime I've played through, I've managed to accused Loghain of paranoia towards Orlais, present the slaver documents incriminating him, and mentioned Howe's torture of that one noble. And when the time came to vote, everyone save two nobles would side with me, causing Eamon to freak out and start fighting Loghain. Is this what always happens? Because last I checked, I could count, and the votes were always in my favor, yet I'd always get the message about '-doesn't bode well for us..yadayada..we'll not go without a fight!'

Anyone have any ideas or tips? Thanks

Also, is there a way to get Ceorlic on your side? I've never managed this.

Ceorlic seems to always side with Loghain. The best I've been able to do is 6 votes to 1. And I've never had Eamon start a fight even when the vote was 5 votes to 2.

Here's a fairly comprehensive explanation of how the Landsmeet is decided in terms how the game is programmed to handle it. It even notes the inevitable bugs involved. *sigh*

Oh, and it is quite spoilery, but fairly thorough. And, Coerlic *always* sides with Loghain. The putz. XD

To be fair, he seems to either believe that A: Regardless of what Loghain has done, he's still Ferelden's best chance of surviving this, or B: Loghain will win anyway (somehow) and punish him and the peasants he's responsible for.

Anybody who's read the Stolen Throne knows that Ceorlic is a weasel that sides with whomever has the most power. Posted Image

Bearing in mind that I haven't, I was under the impression that that Ceorlic was dead?

Either way, that's basically the same as that second possible explanation I gave.
