Me and my brother both play the same copy of Dragon Age: Origins for the PC. He started his own character (elf) and I started mine (human). It says the percentage complete is 52% on my human character profile. Is this percentage a combination of my brother's character and mine? If so, how can we have separate percentages? I don't want ANYTHING from his character profile affecting the information on mine. For most games, we would have different "save files" that are completely separate from one another and don't affect each other at all, but for this game it seems different.

You need 2 different profiles/log ins for the game. Unfortunately though, the DLC will only work for one of the log ins/profiles, unless you buy them for each profile/log in. Other then that, there is no way to separate them, you'll share the percentages, achievements, and specialization unlocks.
