Desperation DLC idea

I think this would be cool, but too many Protheans. An entire pack dedicated to them? Nah, too much. Maybe only two would work. Perhaps with new Salarian guys? Who knows.

Besides, we clone Javik or we find more Prothean pods. So what? They failed to stop the Reapers the last time. What makes anyone think they'd be useful in this cycle? They're just another soldier when it all comes down to it. Just clone existing races, if that's really what you have to resort to.
*No, I'm not a chauvinist. Human and Quarian characters of both genders is legit, and maybe more from other races, but female Protheans? I'm sorry, I just find that really tacky.

I wouldn't go that far, making up DLC ideas is fun. As someone who's done this before, I can attest to how exciting seeing how far imaginations go is.

This was one of main fun parts on this forum, DLC ideas, character builds, showing off your charcters and their name, etc. Not all this nerf war crap

Uhhhhhhhhhhhh. Considering theres a little scan side quest that entails you finding the fossil of an extinct animal for the Salarians to clone so the Krogan can ride them.

That's technically a weapon/vehicle. Actually valuable, contrary to just more soldiers.

Doesnt change the fact its an animal. If we go by that logic, anything living thing that can be used to kill something is a weapon. IE every living race currently fighting in the war, which would also include protheans. You cant exclude soldiers from this list, as they themselves are moreover weapons by this logic, especially those with biotics.

No, not by "that logic". Unless you expect these Protheans to run into the heat of battle with only their bare hands for killing the enemy, they're not weapons nor resources. The animals can't hold weapons, and therefore won't waste any assets. Instead, a trained soldier can hold a weapon AND ride one of these animals into combat. So unless Protheans allow free piggy-backing, they're nigh-useless.

And thus you defeat your own logic. If something can do what they can, why clone it? Ok, im quite sure a vehicle or another animal could of easily sufficed in the place of it. But they cloned it anyways.

How did I defeat my own logic? We have Furies that do the EXACT SAME THING that Protheans do, so why would we waste resources cloning something we can already train up?
And they wouldn't have cloned that animal if there was something already like it. And you really think Krogans don't already ride around in vehicles? They prefer awesomesaurus rexes, obviously. They're better with them than they are in a vehicle. More effective soldier = better war effort.

The salarians wanted the animal cloned because it is (presumably) one of an extremely small number of animals capable of surviving on a toxic planet along with the krogan (you know, the reason only they could beat the rachni) and being large/tough enough to be ridden into battle. Cloning protheans instead wouldn't be of any use in the same situation.
