Well, I grew to like Liara in ME3-she creeped me out in ME1 and didn't much care in ME2-but I'd not mind her getting killed in a future dlc, no; there're much more interesting characters in the ME series and I do feel she took up much more time and space than her character warranted-and at the expense of other characters that probably deserved it a bit more.

If Mordin can die a hero's death, if we have to kill Legion and if Thane can fade unsung and badly written, well...anything can go and perhaps it ought to!

don't understand why we would have a mission solely designed to kill her? That seems weird to say the least.

obviously u didn't read the Original Post

I read the original post and I apologize for not making myself more clear in my post.     I still believe that the mission would be pretty much designed to kill off Liara, but obviously that wouldn't be the -sole- reason for the mission.   I'm all about giving some of those other characters more time and room to shine, especially Miranda, but I don't think it should be at the expense of another character's "life."    If you don't like Liara, that's fine - there are justifiable reasons for disliking her, but there are better ways to promote the other characters besides killing off Liara in my opinion.    But, I apologize for ever thinking that the "sole" reason for the DLC would be to kill her off - obviously it would be to promote other characters following her untimely demise.  My bad.

not at all. The mission would be another DLC where we have another Grand mission in the ME Universe where we have ME1 or 2 sqaudmate make their way return

for example: Jack. Jack returns. And the mission would be designed like the Vimire mission where there's a major consequential decision where we have to choose between A or B (Jack or Liara).

Remember the heroic deaths of the past?
  • Ash/Kaiden
  • Wrex
  • Zaeed
  • Grunt
  • Thane
  • Legion sacrfice for the better.
  • Kirahee did the same if Thane didn't survive ME2
  • Samara does the same
  • heck all the Squad in ME2 died heroic deaths
this death isn't something that "hate liara she dies death" etc.........this would be an Honorable death. I mean for myself I'm no fan of liara......so the death wouldn't be anything to me. But Wrex's death was huge (but that was the choice i did for Renegade playthrough) because I knew the choice would have been Real & Consequential.

Even the "Choice" of maleon's data was a big Consequence since Maleon's data lead whether Wrex/Wreav trusting me or not.

this is just one suggestions. I've given many suggestions from other characters on having more content from Squadmates (Krogans mostly) like Wrex, Zaeed, Grunt, Wreav, Jorgal Thurkak

I wanted to kill her in LotSB,cause that's where I felt the DLC was leading, to a choice between the SB and Liara. So that was a disappointment. Thus I now wish to kill her.

[*]All great points and good suggestions.   Interesting decision to promote a consequential and honorable death for Liara.   There have been notable deaths throughout the Mass Effect universe and this could be another potential option for one.    An intriguing proposal, though I doubt we'll see it.    But, reasonable discussion in the forums?    Who knew it was possible?   :)

@ Seifer006: What is heroic about the deaths of Wrex and Samara?

Samara dies escorting Chakwa & crew back / She dies by Swarms / Dies so the rest of the Crew makes through (showing real leadership)

Wrex: this is easy one

Wrex died like a True K.R.O.G.A.N. so was his successors (Grunt & Dagg)   in honor of his Ancestors from the afflicted Genophage. Ashley followed orders from Shepard. So if Wrex dies......it's not Ash's fault (like many believe) it's the players fault for not doing the Family Armor mission. Ash was just following orders from a Marine Commander.

Bioware did a fantastic job on the death of Wrex. Wrex died standing up for his Race. He joined Shepad because he wanted to fight more than Credits. Shepard gave Wrex what he wanted....

Renegade playthrough, I had Wrex killed. A Real Consequential Decision. Ash followed orders from my Command, Shotgun straight to the back. Then I gave a proper Burial in the words of Shepard: "We couldn't have made it this far without him"

As you see, this "choice" was actually mattered. It brought real Consequences. It also added: Replay Value. I'm a great fan Wreav.(hence the profile pic)

But that is a different thread.

OK, that gif on the first page just totally made me recoil.

Anyway, yeah, it'd be interesting to see how the rest of the crew (Garrus, Joker, VS and Tali mostly) react to her death.

Then you should've given the thread title a less-hostile meaning, like: "If the DLC Forced a Character To Die and Allowed a Character to Replace Them ..."

You plastered a crosshair on a specific character's head.

I could never pick Morinth because she just seemed so incredibly half-assed; especially with that whole "I'm going to disguise myself as my mother so I don't even have my own my in-mission dialogue and appearance" thing.

Man. What a great Suggestion.

to have a Yahg as a squadmate. I've seen other threads on this. Yahg are bad**** they're like K.R.O.G.A.N.S.  mix with Zaeed's ruthlessness in a total package of pure bad****ness

I definitely would have chosen the Shadow Broker over liara.....
In fact, I would have appointed Admiral Hackett as the Shadow Broker

Yes. Thre was very little sense of jeopardy in ME3. Your squadmates were very rarely in peril, unlike the suicide mission where EVERYBODY could die. It was a let down to me that I never found myself facing agonizing Virmire-style decisions, or having to decide which team mates were to undertake a potentially suicidal task.

Athough we saw a good deal of the Reaper war, the risk just was not there. So, despite Liara being my love interest in the game, I approve wholeheartedly of this topic. Bring back the gut-wrenching decisions! The impossible choices! Give us that fear that anytrhing could and can happen based on our choices!

Every squadmate should have the potential to die before the final push. There is no reason for Liara and EDI, at least, to be exempt from this.
Javik and James could possibly be exceptions, due to their "late-arrival" to the series, and the loss of character time that would cause.
Enough with making Liara the creator's pet! Shadow Broker or not, that bluescalp should be able to perish too!

ME1 & 2: those agonizing decisions were great. Brought back those lost elements of Zeld: LTTP where you are venturing into the "unknown" but the game allowed you to make those choices. Whether you face the consequences were up to the game & player.

Virmire I had no idea what to expect (Ash or Kaiden) well I chose to keep Ash. Then the decision with Wrex.....oh man! I'm so happy I did that Family Armor business with Wrex because that would be such a tragedy.

Of course this adds replay value. Renegade Playthrough, I had Ash & Wrex killed.

ME2: So Many Choices. It's what ME3............LACK'D. ME3 choices didn't matter. ME1 & 2 did. They did matter. Major consequences..........................oh Bioware. What happened???:crying:

Agreed man. Javik I can understand. ..though Im damn surprised about Bioware making him a DLC character. I mean really? Bioware turn on fans who stuck with them since ME1 always wanted to know more about protheans then make us pay for it? That's not entitlement it's just poor relations to fanbase

Enough said.
