Your main intention for this thread was about killing off Liara.

Leaving that aside for the moment.

I'm wondering why does it have to be her death...even if it was an honorable one?

Wouldn't it have been a better suggestion to simply have the choice of her working with Hackett and becoming a War Asset...so then we can have another character on the Normandy?

That way...you get what you want...without having to kill any character off.

To me...if there was no real hate...or a want for Liara to die...than this should have been the initial suggestion.

I'm in no way a fan of liara. I do not like her....at all. those that know me on bsn know this. They know I'm K.R.O.G.A.N.  Fan. Wrex. Wreav. Grunt. Jorgal Thukak & the human-Krogan: Zaeed

But.

I've always been giving suggestions to the Dev to bring back squadmates we all love. If you see my past threads (and I can show you them if like) I've always tried to come up with more DLC suggestions.

Now saying that. That link I showed you before is a DLC suggestion (OP). More squadmates returning. Does liara need to be killed......no. not at all. Those don't like her (me) I will have her killed.

again the DLC suggestion is about Real Consequential Choice. That Virmire Scenario where back in ME1 you're wresting with your mind........"do I choose to kill Wrex or not?" or how about "ash or kiaden?" etc....

or ME2: whom do I bring to? "miranda, samara or jack"?  etc........

anyway it's the gut-wrenching choice that ME3 NOT HAVE AT ALL!!! this is War. Sacrifice always are made in War...but ME3 didn't have that War......feel. In fact...it didn't feel like a War at all IMO

I don't think they'd ever make a DLC with the option of just killing off a specific member of the team to get a different member back. It just seems kinda odd. Maybe if they had choices on both who you sacrifice and who you get back, then we'd be in business. I'd also prefer the above idea of sending them off as war assets as opposed to killing them. But meh. I like Liara so I voted no on the poll. Wouldn't switch her for any of the people listed, especially if it meant killing her. I'd rather have everybody live.

Im just curious at the supposed lack of "Sacrifice always are made in War...but ME3 didn't have that War......feel." whereas in 3 you chose between Wrex/Mordin, Salarians or Krogans, Geth or Quarians, Tali or Legion (or neither), and even saving Zaal'Koris or not.

You make some really big sacrifices, and some really big choices in the game. I can understand wanting to replace Liara with someone else, God knows I'd want to replace her with Jack, but don't go around saying you want to do it to give the game more war-like circumstances and sacrifices.

Most definitely like to replace her with Miranda or Samara. I'm big fan of both. I wish Samara could have been a LI, I would've had taken her for one of my Playthroughs.

I just thought it'd be cool to have that Virmire experience back...those were real Choices. That link above is a good suggestion IMO.

You can have Thane become evil (possessed by Harbinger) big fan of Harbinger. So I would think this be a good Epic battle with Harbinger, maybe liara (and/or) another squadmate can be there to save shepard or whatever, or even thane but in consequence the death of their life............or something

Couldn't have agreed with you more on this. I would like a DLC specifically for the Renegade Shep attitude towards her.

also I don't like how liara abuses her Authority as the Shadow Broker........

the option is not Mandatory. It's a choice (a lot of liara fans don't seem to get this)

People are just going to have to accept that certain characters are going to play a bigger role than others in stories. Liara hardly played a role at all in ME2, so cut her some slack.

Besides, it's not the fact that Liara plays too much of a role. It's the fact that other characters hardly play much of a role at all and are generic in comparison.

I agree with what you said. I also know that Bioware wants fans input & suggestions. Many fans (like myself) will offer Bioware more DLC suggestions. I'm big Wrex, Zaeed, Grunt fan. I'm huge on Krogans. I love to see more Krogans. So while I offer DLC suggestions, for example: that virmire-gut-wrenching choice.

have to choose between two squadmates, why not liara? do fans have to choose liara of course not, but it's that Optional choice. I had Wrex killed in my Renegade Playthrough. And I'm one of the biggest Wrex fans out there! But I knew there was consequences. And also that replay value. To see Wrex's brother Wreav. Big Fan of Wreav (it's Jim Cummings)!!!!!!

Completely agree with ya man. But Bioware won't just "kill her off" but If. they were to give a death scene then it'd be in an Honorable way. That's why I propose the whole "option" & Virmire Scenario. Because it's something I believe could happen........by both keeping liara fans happy & non-liara fans

I don't hate Liara, so no, because this does feel like a thread that is about Liara dying.

I don't like her all that well--she's pushed at the player far too much, male or female, involved in another relationship or not, interested in Liara or not. And I never cared for her obsession with Shepard. But I value her as a character, as part of the team. And, well, my Shepards are usually the type who want to keep everyone alive, so no matter how annoying Liara is, if there were a DLC that enabled us to kill her, I'd still have to keep her alive. And then she'd just end up with an even bigger hero worship complex and become a creepier stalker than Conrad Verner ever was.
