The huge thing on the right of the painting is leviathan. He never got put in a shell and so you see his "organic form". So the long arms that go all the way down to the ground and thick body are leviathans features.

Least this is what I believe to be true. He might have been put in a reaper shell but broke out I dunno.

Huh? "Organic form" please explain, because now I'm picturing a giant the size of a skyscraper crawling out of a broken Reaper.

Human reaper.  That goes inside the Reaper you see all over the place.  Those are just shells.  The actual reaper takes on the shape of the species that forms it.  So the leviathan reaper would contain in it a robot thats made of the leviathans that looks like the leviathans.

Basically put.  Each Reaper is a Kinder Suprise.

It's a master plan. Liara is, while a 'good guy', she is part of IT and part of Shepard's problems.

muahahaa

No, the Protheans made the Asari what they are by altering their genetic structure; Javik reveals this.

Resist the indoctrination of arguing with those sorts of IT supporters. Do not rage. Walk away; you'll thank me in the morning.

Definitely worth raging.

OT: Very cool find. It's pretty blurry, so very hard to tell what exactly a leviathan would look like from that picture (which is obviously the point) but this just makes me more excited for the DLC.

Pretty sure the scene depicted is that when the Iron Giant was sent back in time by the detonation of the nuclear device and is trying to defend these early humans from a giant scarab-type insect. I don't know where you're all getting this Leviathan stuff from.

if you remember The Final Hours Of MassEffect 3, the letter Casey Hudson received on his office by a german 3rd grade student talked about how cool would it be if somebody found paintings in a cave related to a reaper prophecy.

How terrible of a parent do you have to be to let an 8 year old play a game rated for people twice his age? There's a joke about german aggression in there somewhere. And if this doesn't confirm a severe lack of competence of the writing staff, I don't know what does.

I didn't notice the giant before; good eye there. My guess is it's recent and done by someone whose indoctrinated.

What if THAT giant is Leviathan...?

Is this "Leviathan" the same as the Leviathan of Dis? If so, when Balak confronts you on the citadel, he explains the the mysterious artifact found on Dis was actually a dead reaper corpse. So, I guess it's reasonable to assume that the Leviathan we encounter in this DLC would be more shaped like a reaper, or at least very close.

But it's all speculation. Your guess is just as good as mine and as far as we know, the Leviathan, being a failed Reaper, may have never been confined to the generic Reaper shell that we see.

Well, in the DLC Shep has to go looking for Leviathan, he is probably following leads that lead to more leads and so on. I'd bet this cave painting is one of those leads, or even what starts this hunt.

Leviathan's been around for billions of years, it's interacted with prehistoric civilizations, civilizations that were then harvested by the Reapers 1000s of years later. Or maybe it was one ot the homeworlds of this cycle's races. In any case, most likely saw it as some kind of deity, and probably recorded it's visit in this way.

Looks like Asari and Reapers. Interesting...does this mean that the Asari created the Reapers, or the Reapers created the Asari?

I think it will actually tie into the Sha'ira trinket quest somehow.

My memory of that is too fuzzy.  How so?

I remember something, the trinket is used on an orb in a planet,
Shep then sees a vision about cavemen.

It was Prothean relic.

Yes exactly, but I could not recall the vision, so I replied with more information...

Here you have some more info, had to check ME Wiki as I could not really
remember exactly what the vision was all about, only cavemen came to mind...

Mass Effect Wiki - Eletania

The Vision

Examining the strange Prothean artifact reveals a small, irregular slot on the underside of the surface. Remembering the strange trinket you received from the asari Consort on the Citadel, you pull it out and
place it in the slot. The ball explodes in a brilliant flash of white light, momentarily blinding you and
disorienting you.

Slowly your senses return as you wake from a deep sleep. You are alone in the forest, though you are not
far from the caves you share with the others in your tribe. There is a pain and a small lump in the back of
your skull, as if a chip of flint has been forced under the surface of the skin.

Leaning on your bone-tipped spear for support, you rise to your feet. A sound draws your attention upwards,
where a strange creature hovers high above you. It is unlike the birds you hunt by the lake's edge – it has no
head and no wings yet somehow it flies. It is a beast of shining silver; hanging motionless in the sky like a cloud.
You sense it is watching you, studying you.

Raising a hairy fist, you shake your spear at it in anger and the creature rises up quickly until it disappears
from view. With a satisfied grunt you make your way back to your caves and the rest of the tribe.
You fall into the familiar patterns of life – the hunt for food, the struggle to claim and keep a mate, the battles
against the other tribes that would claim your territory. Days roll into nights and back into days. Each time you
rise from sleep there is the sensation that you are not alone; that some "other" is with you sharing all you see, hear and feel. At these times your hand goes to the strange lump at the back of your skull and you remember
the silver creature from the sky.

The air grows colder, winter falls. You must range farther for food, clutching the furs tight against you to ward
off the chill. It is on one of these long hunts that the strange bird returns. You hear it before you see it, its call a
deafening roar as it descends from above, swooping down on you. A single great eye opens on the underbelly, a
glowing red orb. You try to run, but a finger of red light extends from the eye and engulfs you, and all goes black again.

You wake an instant later to find yourself on Eletania lying on your back, the Prothean artifact looming above you
undamaged and your companions standing over you. They help you to your feet, puzzled. "There was a flash of
light and you just sort of toppled over," one explains. "Are you okay, Shepard?" the other asks. You don't answer
right away, wondering at the implications of what you have seen: the memories of a Cro-Magnon hunter,
captured by an implanted Prothean data recorder. How long did they study the primitive humans, observing them
and analyzing the results at their base on Mars? And what, if anything, did they learn from us? "I'm fine," you
finally reply, realizing that this is a mystery you will probably never solve. "Forget about it."

edit .. tried fixing wall of text in quote.

...and you must take into account that many things thought to be Prothean are NOT.
For example the Citadel and Relays.Image IPB

The description of some ancient event makes it sound like Reapers visited Earth at some point.  Perhaps that could tie into Leviathan's story arc?

I thought it was a Prothean vessel...

What if the reaper is going after the huge figure not the caveman with bonespear.

IMO the caveman with bonespear in the paintings look like fighting the giant humanoid,
not the reaper creature thing.

I've looked at the pictures again with my changable indoctrinated eyes and all I see is...

humanoid figures trying to hunt a giant squid, we still have those. nothing new.

That figure is definitely not a giant squid, it consists of geometric lines same as a reaper or some other machine, a squid is natural ergo consists of organic lines, even cave men would take this into account when they drew it because they only know organic, an unnatural machine like a reaper or the leviathan(which ever it may be) would have stuck out to them so much so that it would have shown in their painting,

My personal theory is that it is a reaper and these cave men or Asari or whatever they were were either hunting a reaper or discovered a reaper while on a hunt and discovered the leviathan to kill the reaper or had been worshipping it and released it upon the reaper

Has this question been asked yet?

Why the hell are the Reapers attacking primitive races that still use sticks and stones?

lol
