Despite using the Keanu Reaves meme, I think this speculation is actually not bad.

Or at least maybe Leviathan helped the civilization build the mass accelerator weapon. Because it seems kind of strange for a civilization to invest all that time into a weapon capable of that destruction if they are only able to kill one Reaper.

I can't help but wonder if long limbs is the race represented in the ilos statues...

I strongly doubt it, the leaks clearly show Shepard hunting for Leviathan from world to world. IMHO There is no way it would have survived this long without being _very_ sneaky and keeping _very_ quiet (Like the Thorian). I'd say that it only attacks when cornered and IMHO it uses an anti-tech field to keep the Reapers away (Hence the ship graveyard and the shuttle dying in the trailer)

Or it could be something else that brought the Kodiak down, like an attack from Reaper forces since you also see a gunfight and a journalist who played the demo talked about how difficult it was to fight on a rocky boat.

my theory..

The painting is Leviathan. He visited younger species. Guided them along.

Leviathan then rebelled against the reapers. Rather than engage them in a head on battle, it escaped and watched the unfolding chaos from the sidelines. Alone it is unable to influence the conflict directly, but has been helping the younger races from the sidelines (planting data on the crudible etc....) The Leviathan will be a wise councillor to Spehard and instruct him along his path to destiny (confronting star brat) and will change the ending.

Again, that vision has nothing to do with the Reapers, it is the Protheans studying early humans.

That painting is not of some tall figure as most claim. It's just that figures are drawn in different aspects. The "tall" figure with spear and the injured next to it are drawn to from a closer perspective which make them seem largers. The figures fighting with the reapers are drawn smaller to give scale to size of the reaper. I think you guys are over-reading the meaning of the paintings.

I think you're looking at the wrong figure.  Go to the far right.  There's a dark, vertical retagular stain...look at that figure.

That's a gas giant, and the planet where we find Leviathan has water and atmosphere.

Considering the odds are incredibly slim this Leviathan is the one from Dis at this point, I think, barring a completely-out-of-left-field revival in Omega or something else, I can safely call the batarians pretty damn disappointing as an antagonistic side race. So much potential, tapped only a couple of times, in BDTS and the very occasional "stereotype-defying batarian NPC" in ME2.

I'm not thematically opposed to Khar'Shan falling behind the scenes, but dammit, I really like the batarians. :\\

There are other planets in the system however, with all the ships being destroyed in that system there is a possiblity that parts of the DLC could happen in that DLC

There's always future DLC, I do hope we see some Batarians however, they are an interseting race.

Aren't the Ilos statues of the Inusannon, the major race in the cycle before the Prothean cycle..?

It is far less serious than Haestorm and hardly anyone cares about that.
