And, sometimes the sound effects get annoying, but that usually only starts to wear on me if we get to wave 10 or something and I've had to sit by them and hear it all match.

I agree. Any power can be spammed. Guns are spammed by their nature. The powers are balanced by weight and cooldown and having a very long animation. If you're in the open don't count on it saving you when there are pyros or marauders or hunters right in front of you. With insta-casting powers you can fire and run doing at least something. It requires precise timing or you are down a lot.Homey C-Dawg wrote...
Biotic and electric slash do NOT need to be reworked just because people spam them in farming games.

It's utterly impossible for someone camping behind a cover/wall to outscore a decent player who don't. Simple reason: Good players can seek the enemy out and destroy most of them before they ever come close to the capming spot. If you got outscored, you were just waiting around for easy kills yourself. So what's worse, spamming ES, spammining other tech/biotics, spamming TX/fire, spamming grabs or just spamming the fire button? Are any of these really better than the other? No. Any character, including the ES/BS users should easily take down any enemy much quicker by using their abilities properly rather than spamming something through walls. Stop whining.MrFuddyDuddy wrote...
They realy should at least give it a more engthy cast delay, had a game where a Shadow did nothing but spammed ES all game and had first place by a good 20k. While the score doesn't really bother me its the simple fact how easy it was for this guy to dominate by just standing behindd a wall al game and pressing one button

Longer cool-down, and no wall penetration would completely fix the massive amount of abuse this has been getting. The other two powers for Shadow and Slayer even out well. They are both really fun classes to play without even having the Slash. I use the slash only for crowd control if I'm in a fix. I would much rather cut somebody head off with a flaming sword or pop some heads, but thats just me, and Im sure my opinion doesnt count haha
Really BAD idea. Slayer already sucks. (well except for those who spam...)The PD is useless, charge not that viable on gold, squishy, the animation takes too long so charge + slash not an option, no DR for heavy melee...
So NO. Already the slayer feels like a shadow who failed the N7 course....
I used to think the Slayer sucked.
Then, I changed my perspective to come at the character a little differently. Sorta like what I did with the Vorcha. I thought he sucked as well until I simply started playing him in a different manner than I did other classes.
That Phase Disruptor can be beast if you use it correctly. Requires some accuracy and a little bit of timing, but it reliably staggers most enemies. And if you pair up with a Geth Engineer or a Demolisher who can replenish your shields, you become even more deadly with the power.
His teleport dodge is extrememly useful when Charging, and he's the first Vanguard that I've felt realtively comfortable Charging Banshees. I throw a Talon onto the guy and put in work on enemies.

Btw, Shadow not using shadow strike seems like a blasphmey...I mean you have Tactical cloak + shadow strike + a beautiful dodge. What is not to love. Shadow strike + dodge + shadow strike -> dead phantom. Dancing a tango with the phantom and getting the upper hand is a RUSH

THIS is the CORE of the direction I didn't like ME2-3 taking. Spam powers all day long, when powers were supposed to be something special. Back in ME1 I had an Adept that had SPECIAL powers, he could insta-kill 3 enemies with a single throw, but that was a SPECIAL moment, and most of the time it was about shooting your gun anyway.
These slashes are just more annoying to you because they take so much screen space, but ALL the powers are spammed like that, you just don't notice them that much. This can only be fixed by going back to VERY LONG SEPERATE cooldowns, and 300% more empowered powers, but it won't happen. Suck it up?

Something definitely needs to be done when people go around playing the game they purchased however they feel like. If they're not going to stop themselves from having fun, I think it's BioWare's duty to do it for them.

Seriously, I end up with people like this 8 OUT OF 10 MATCHES. Bioware, is this what you want out of your game? A button masher??
From what I can tell. He's a lot more useful in the team than you are... whining and crying about a skill.

I think the only rational, clear-headed thing to do here is for us to go over to OP's house and efficiently beat him senseless with 2 x 4's.
Maybe that would appeal to his "visual and technically minded" (ha ha) side.

You apparently are one of those guys that doesnt read the whole thread lol. I'm not farming. It was a random match. GTFO.WiqidBritt wrote...
you're complaining about someone spamming powers while farming?
isn't that the whole point of farming?

Well based on this thread I respeced my shadow to max out shadow strike ( 6/3/6/5/6 ) and I ended up on a farming run - you gotta be kidding me. I was able to cloak/ss run away sometimes, but also the darn cloak does not always allow you to be invisible to the Geth, lol. Got killed a bunch of times after I did a SS ( yes, had the fire power while cloaked + duration build ) in the early rounds, and ended up spamming the only level 3 ES for the most part.
So, those guys who you are complaining about are probably doing the best that they know how in order to help out.
The Shadow is a fun build to play on a normal mission, but you ought to realize that people on farming runs just want the credits mostly and are trying to help out.
On a side note, I actually like to use the farming runs to test out new builds/weapon set-ups because you are playing gold level enemies so you can see the damage, and you probably won't be a drain on the team.

Really, the only problem is when you have Slayers and Shadows spamming the Slashes, if standing anywhere near them and going ADS or into scope (for sniping), your screen starts shaking so violently from the Slashes you can't even see where you're aiming (not to mention if the path of the Slashes goes obscures your view). Rather frustrating when you're trying to go through Cloak cycles with a Widow or Valiant.
And, sometimes the sound effects get annoying, but that usually only starts to wear on me if we get to wave 10 or something and I've had to sit by them and hear it all match.
