is someone notice this while playing on pc ? is there a attack speed cap for the animation on pc ? or even an bug like in origins where if you stack too much attack speed your rogue slow or once you reach a cap, its just stand there ?
because i still don't feel as much "speedy" as the video of arelex on console...

nah, there's no effectively no attack speed cap.
I think there's a hard cap of +350%, but since it's impossible to reach that without glitches/modding there's pretty much no limit.
If you're comparing attack speeds, are you doing all the same things as Arelex?
i.e. dual haste, barrage, fervor, primeval lyrium rune, thumbs up, +speed gear?
If you're doing all that and you're still significantly slower, perhaps your computer is lagging or something.
As for DW, I'm pretty sure Arelex uses some extra speed gear (dalish dagger or something) which adds a little bit of speed.

you forgot to add "accelerating video by 150% before uploading" in that listmr_afk wrote...

The enemy attack speed says the same since they mostly all die anyway before even hitting something once.

i kill ennemy faster tough, but that's not it. i was thinking about the animation, not the actual attack speed.
for example, if i compared the attack speed of arelex say like, with a sns warrior using his berserk vanguard guide, in his video, the animation of his character seem to have more speed than my sword and shield warrior. so, i was just wandering that maybe i just broke up the limit ^^'
and yes i use i pretty much did what arelex did with sns warrior, got all the best elemental gear, all the attack speed bonus, i even like i said, put 2 primeval lyrium rune on a lv.50 character for a total of + 150% attack speed... but still.
or maybe like you said i just bypass through the attack speed limit lol ^^'

So, overall, I'd say it's a fair trade-off, no?

How were you able to do that? Isn't there only 1 priveal lyrium rune in the game?

arelex is a little touchy around that subject, but i just find it funny. these game forums/speed run threads etc are pretty pretty much defunct now, so it's not like it really matters anyway.
if you've got two primeval lyrium runes and speed equipment at level 50, you've probably hit the hard cap.
dual haste = +100%
barrage = +50%
fervor = +30%
two primeval lyrium runes = +150%
With speed gear/thumbs up, you've probably reached +350%
I'm not sure if it's like DA:O where the attack speed resets when you bypass the cap or if it just limits you to 350%. In any case, it's unlikely you'll need so much attack speed.

But I felt like I deserved it. Still do. In my defence, I usually have to be told I'm being a dick before I get better. I like Arelex - as much as you can like a dude whom you only know to be a good gamer.
I like you too, mr_afk, although you being the worst player kinda makes you look less cool, ya know how thinga are. ;D
Btw, at a chance you'll see it, I tried out you post-patch crit-mage. Wow, that really made me feel like a badass. The only things I really had trouble with were Malvernis (bloody archers and glass canon party - takes a few seconds for those Firedtorms to come down), Prosper (I'm not gonna comment on that) and second aspect revenants. Sure, you made it look so cool and easy, but they managed to pull me into the middle of triple Firestorms a few times. No fair, says I.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but a drunken mosquito colliding into an unsuspecting enemy would probably hit the damage cap post-patch. If you're really desperate for large numbers (without modding your game apart), you could try to top 320000 damage pre-patch.punkgamer01 wrote...
YEAH ! I HAVE BROKE THE GAME ! NEXT : DAMAGE NUMBER CAP ! XD

Haha yeah, that malvernis fight kinda blows for my crit-mage setup. I think the strategy I came up with pretty much relies on the dog soaking up all the arrows. And it doesn't help that mister ghostly dragon is immune to firestorms. Dragon-hunting is much more fun with rogues.
I can't really remember prosper - I do remember absolutely hating that fight though. As for the revenants I suppose I was just lucky haha. Revenants become kinda stupid when they're stuck in a grav ring. That and my dog holds threat like there's no tomorrow. I just realised how much my various setups relied on that dog taking all the abuse from enemies. Poor guy.

i'll probably just load an ancient save game before legacy, gear up and then just re-doing legacy with the objective of breaker this game, if not, HEY WHERE'S THE FUN ! ^^'
but seriously i have finished like my 10ish playthrough of dragon age its kind of boring, to hear the same cutscene again and again and again, i wish dragon age 3 was already here. and don't feel like re-playing through dragon age origins, adding to that, i freaking love the combat system of da2 if dao had this combat system i will gladly play it again, but you know, i don't feel like creating a character and this kind of stuff. if the mage nuking in dao was kinda less powerful i could start a mage character, but the nuke in aoe, just like kill all you party member, plus i can't try a all-ranged party in dao, since ranged character in dao are all weak against all ennemies, like a mage vs rogue or warrior, the mage will just get torn about.

yeah - I remember one time I messed around with things when I still had that dreaded patch installed before I threw it out the window
but it's still ridiculous that post-patch, Item Pack geared Assassin/Shadow DW Hawke can get up to 400% crit dmg and STILL enemy assassins have a sliver of health when assassinate hits.
talk about stuff making no sense. hell, post-patch probably even I would able to solo the game.

I know that it's possible on PC when not in combat. If there's loot to pick up (box, corpse, anything) if you have it in your sight and run next to it while pressing "R" (default key for "TAKE ALL"). Your rogue should whip out his/her daggers and twist them around. You can do it continously by repeating the action - run next to the loot, but DON'T ACTUALLY PICK IT UP and press "R". Dagger twist. Although it seems that the character gets tired after a while and put the daggers away.
I dunno why but when I first got the game, it was possible to do it not in combat without the loot trick. Just run and mash "R". Doesn't work for me now. Patch, possibly?
And yeah, I think it's not cool to put that effect in the game and not enable people to do it. Not cool at all.
