The game has some some new right-stick controls that are reminiscent of NBA Live. Video here

According to this Game Informer article there will be technical fouls via Kinect which is pretty cool.

Only voice commands. I'm starting to think that's all it's good for as far as hardcore games are concerned.

We can't just put EA sport games away, can we?! Fifa is a must have every year for me, other addicts like NBA, NHL and Dat American Football.

I'm indifferent to Madden at this point and NBA Live is just sad. I've heard good things about NHL and FIFA but I haven't played either of those kinds of sports games since around 2003-2004.

I'm just a FIFA person, but I know some people here who like those american games. Best FIFA games has been FIFA (20)08 and 2012 since I played 07 till now.

Some Gamescom footage. I have no clue what they were talking about but I heard the words "right stick" in there so they must have been talking about the new dribbling. The short clip showcases some of the new interaction between the defense and ball handler.

More control scheme, new triple threat, new animation, and physics talk in this second developer's insight. I'm really excited about the better speed differentiation between slow and faster players.

I've always been more of a "The Association" guy. I don't do much quick play. I hope they'll make "The Association" more challenging. It gets so easy after you acquire all those first round picks. All you have to do is keep trading down and sooner or later, you'll have 10 first round picks in just one draft, a lot of which are lottery picks if you traded with the right teams. At one point, I have 4 all-stars on my team and a bunch of first rounders. The hard cap is a pain in the ass so I just traded some of my player for even more first rounders.

I hope 2K will make it more challenging this time round, and keep up the good work they've been doing on My Player. It's quite a lot of fun. They need to fix the cheating on the AI's end, but that's pretty much it.

I used to be an Association guy most of the time before My Player. I've delved into it a little bit these past two iterations but I've been playing My Player a lot. I definitely want to really get back into it to see how much has changed, I do remember trading for good players being a little too easy.

I love My Player mode. I'm hoping that they add more shoe companies to sign with in the game. It feels weird to wear the Adidas arm sleeve with Nike shoes on My Player's feet.

Will you actually be able to play some man to man defense without feeling like your sliding around on ice this year ?

I've only encountered that online. As far as offline defense goes, defense always felt a little inefficient no matter who you were using or who you were defending. I don't want defense to feel cheap but I do want to feel capable playing on-ball defense.

Well I never even played online and it felt that way to me.  They need to implement proper foot planting, enough with that sliding around bs.  Playing on ball defense was terrible and letting the cpu do that all the time is just lame.

They should focus on core gameplay issues before even starting with any of the gimmicky crap.

The foot planting and cheap cpu defense looks to be addressed if these insights and the gamescom videos are any indication. I haven't seen any excessive bumping from the cpu, of course I'll need to get my hands on the demo to have a more proper impression. People at Gamescom tend to not know how to play basketball games properly.

Link to a video of the Kinect integration. Looks pretty cool. As long as the lag isn't huge I'm sure it'll have some use.

Los Angeles Lakers @ Miami Heat gameplay.

Speed definitely looks like it matters now. The excessive bumping by the CPU on the perimeter looks like it is gone which is great.

That's amazing!

They even have a skill for being elite at starting fast breaks? Awesome.

Have not played a basketball video game in years, but this looks like it will be a great game. So if you can create a player can you slap on signature skills on him off the bat or how does that work? Thinking about giving this a shot looks great.
