I decided to recreate 100RenegadePoints test on Gold, since I didn't have a build to compare to.

He took 2:23 to kill an Atlas on Platinum with an unknown build using ES and a shield mod.

He took 1:15 to kill an Atlas on what he says is Platinum with an unknown build and unknown mods.

In my test, I used my build with the lowest level mods available on Gold.

It took me 1:30 seconds to kill an Atlas and I admit I was forced to take cover for some of that due to taking damage.

I then equipped my Wraith VII with Smart Choke V ( I wanted to be fair and make sure all pellets landed on target). I also figured I would throw a Shotgun rail amp I just to be fair.

I swapped maps to try and get to the Atlas quicker and I used ES mostly to clear until the Atlas.

I killed the Atlas in 1:18.

This leads me to the disparity on his supposed Platinum with the Wraith because I should have taken shorter to kill it on Gold. The only thing I can assume is that he either stacked his Wraith with every mod available or he was actually doing it on Gold as well. I can't be certain because at no time in his Wraith video did he bring up the scoreboard to show it was Plat.

So, to sum up, ES killed the Atlas on Gold 12 seconds slower than the Wraith. When you factor in the different natures of the two forms of damage and user error/skill, it is within a 13% margin of error range.

Yeah, we should definitely balance the game on what the mundane farmers are doing because everyone who uses Smash/Slash variants only play on Glacier and White.

It doesn't matter if he stacked it with mods. There are two mods for weapons. They will be used in a normal match, and it's not like you could get power boosts in their places. Wraith isn't even the most powerful gun in the game really.

There are 2 weapon mods, ammo powers, rails, and permanent gear. It's funny that when I use any type of mods, gear or otherwise, I get castigated, but it is ok if someone else does it. I am not saying the Wraith is the most powerful gun in the game, but a high level one is situationally one of the very best shotguns behind the Piranha/Claymore/GPS (Reegar is very situational).

The situation is this, 100RenegadePoints specifically set out to counter my videos, yet they skipped build info as well as gear info. I know they used a Wraith IX to my VII, but that is not a huge difference. Everything else, including proving the difficulty and mods on the Wraith test, is left to conjecture.

No, this is not the situation, these videos are not meant to counter yours. My intention is to upload them for personal use and for everyone who wants to know how effective certain weapons/skills are on platinum(more will be added in the future). I know you do not believe me if I told the time, so look at the date when I uploaded the first wraith video, it was uploaded before you created this thread...

I even took the time to redo the old wraith video, just to prove to random strangers that I am not a dirty liar (the first wave went as horrible as possible this time I even had to use rockets). The build and weapon mods are included (extended barrel+smart choke+ap ammo 1). The scoreboard showing that it is indeed platinum is included and the time is even a few seconds less than in the first video.

I guess the long time in your video is because you did not use any kind of armor penetration mod/consumable. The timings for the guns would be not very meaningful on platinum if I did not use ap gear. Why would anyone play platinum without armor piercing gear?? (The question whether to use power amps or cyclonic modulator on your casters is a lot more difficult to answer, this is why I decided to leave them out) Remember I made these vids with the intention to show how effective guns/skills are on platinum

The insanity of the OP is that the Slayer is probably the most underpowered class in the whole game. His Charge on full evolution doesn't even kill a Trooper on Silver. The pulse cannon doesn't do much, melee is glitchy as hell and gets him killed and still this creepy fellow spends all this time trying to make him even worse.

If Bioware include any "fix" demanded by this person, I'm going to quit ME3 altogether.

Hmm no it's a great class, maybe not great on platinum (but so are many classes) but excellent everywhere else. But people still think he sucks because he has a high learning curve compared to other characters, that's why he's played as a wall spammer mostly. I don't think bioware will nerf the slashes, at worst they'll just nerf the cooldown a bit for it to match smash and shockwave.

His true potential is not found solely in biotic slash however, he has many other strenghts. The synergy between phase disruptor and biotic charge is just awesome, his teleporting abilities as well as damage reduction on his light melee also are great assets when used properly.

Biotic slash wall spamming by far isn't the way to use the class at it's full potential, that's one more reason why I think this thread is wrong but whatever.

No argument from me. My point wasn't that he was a poor class, but that none of his powers are very powerful by themselves, including Biotic slash. Compared to for instance pressing Cloak - Sabotage - Fire Claymore over and over and over, the Slayer is certainly far more challenging to play. Especially if you're not hosting.

Thanks for clarifying. I skipped mods except for smart choke because I usually catch flak for using anything but the most basic mods or gear.

Heavy melee is glitchy. Light melee x3 is godly on this class and used correctly makes him about as unkillable as a novaguard.

close this thread. BW you have already stated nerf-call threads do not influence your decisions regarding Multiplayer Balance Changes, and it is clear that while they do serve the purpose of creating discussions, they are always negative in nature and only serve to segregate the community further.

That being said, Nerf-call threads should be bannable-offences. Let BW do their job.

They need to Leave things alone. Not everything has to be balanced. Making everything grey has already caused, and is still causing people quit in droves.

Ultra-Rare weapons are ultra rare, so they should all be ultra-powerful. So what if Farmer-Bob has model X, gets bored of the game and stops playing, because he was able to reach his goals with a powerful weapon in short order?
There is no Inter-Player trade economy in this game! There is no reason to crack down like this... You dont see people selling their Harrier X's on Ebay...
Not everyone farms...

Again, an old topic but, balancing weapon stats to make life harder for farmers hurts the entire community! /fact

Last I checked, light melee doesn't protect the slayer from melee attacks. If the slayer would be changed, he NEEDS buffs, not nerfs.

Your numbers still aren't entirely correct.

I double checked your Cloaked DPS numbers, and you're using TC as though it were multiplicative, which it is additive.

It actually does 3465 damage per cloak cycle, not 4653. The cloak cycle will also last 7.19 seconds, as it goes: Cloak -> 1.5s animation delay -> 1.37 ES cooldown -> 1.5 animation delay -> 2.82 cloak cooldown.

The end result is 481.92 DPS. It's not much of an improvement over just spamming it normally.

Assuming full equipment, you would do 550.76 DPS or 826.15 against shields/barriers. This results in a time to kill of 67.29 seconds on a Gold Atlas.

For comparison, the Locust with full equipment does 757.53. The time to kill a Gold Atlas is 67.98 seconds. This is assuming that you're running Extended Mag, Extended Barrel, and AP Rounds III(and taking into account that AP Ammo isn't boosting damage vs shields).

Your single target Slash DPS is on par with what is a strong contender for the worst gun in the game. That's also actually considering no reload cancels.

Last I checked, light melee doesn't protect the slayer from melee attacks. If the slayer would be changed, he NEEDS buffs, not nerfs.


Melee attacks do stagger a Slayer, just like they stagger a Novaguard. Almost as soon as you are staggered you can charge again.

80% cloak damage = 1034

1292.5+1034 = 2326.5

You can do two of these per cloak cycle if you spec for it.

2326.5+2326.5 = 4653


Cloak + 2.82 (animation+skill CD), cancel cloak + 2.82(animation+skill CD), Cloak, repeat.

2.82+2.82 = 5.64

I added .05 since cloak seems to take a very short time to activate.

As far as the Locust, again, as I said with the Avenger, you are talking single target damage that cannot go 20m through walls.

So, let's look at 3 targets that are outside of the 30% pre-hit area. Let's say for ease of calculation they don't have shields or armor.

2453.25 DPS vs. your 757.53 on a single target.
