I know only two and a half people will read this, but whatever, I don't care. I recently had an idea for a new Mass Effect game, but before I get into that, I want to talk about how the spin offs should work.
There is no concievable way that even the talented developers at Bioware could possibly write and code a game that could suit all three endings without over 9000 disks, so I don't think they should try. Instead, I think they need to try a more Legend of Zelda approach: making seperate games for seperate timelines. For instance, my game idea will take place in the Destruction timeline. Without further ado, here is Mass Effect: Destruction, for lack of a better name.
This game will take place 32 years after the events of ME3, where conflict is once again rising in the galaxy. Comander Shepard is nothing but a broken idol of the past, who represents only the futile hope of peace. His remains were never recovered from the Citatel, which is now locked away in a forgotten quarter of the galaxy, it fear of its power. Commander Shepard's brother (Don't stop reading, I know this sounds a little too fan-fiction, but it gets better. You may notice I am making the Spacer character cannon, and you'll have to deal with that.) has lived under the shadow of a man who he has never met; a man who had died 7 years before his birth. Lieutenant-Commander Evan Shepard's life has consisted of climbing up the chain of command at an unprecedented speed, mastering in a variety of skills, such as sniping, covert ops, and ship piloting, just to name a few. When the game begins, he is in Rio, Brazil, training to be a N7, under the command of Captain Vega. This concludes the initialization of the game.
The plot begins shortly after Evan Shepard is christened with the title of N7. Going back to the first cycle of existance, where the Reapers were created, the creators anticipated that there would be attempts to destroy their "solution". So when the most powerful Reaper was created, they installed a failsafe program. This Reaper was the only of its kind capable of truly "thinking". This Reaper was called Harbinger. When the crucible destroyed the Reapers, Harbinger's failsafe prevented its obliteration. Harbinger quickly retreated to dark space, to plan its next move. 32 years later, his plan is finalized. He takes complete control over the husk of the Citadel and the teams protecting it, and begins his search for Shepard. Harbinger is able to access the room where the God Child once lived, and is suprised to find the body of Commander Shepard, who is trapped in a frozen state. Harbinger releases him, and implants Reaper tech into his body, to bend him to his will. Shepard is now indoctrinated.
Evan Shepard's first mission is to investigate the recent loss of contact with the N7 team guarding the Citadel. His journey will take him all over the galaxy, as he attempts to stop his brother from destroying all life in the galaxy.
I have a lot of ideas for this game, but they can't be easily translated into writing. If anybody wants to add or edit to this, thats alright with me. I'd honestly be happy to see one comment, even if it is "ur gay".
