Is it the worst ending ever? Maybe, maybe not. But will it be remembered for having had a horribly bad ending? YES.

Just checking if you read the OP. I'm asking if you think ME3 is the most notorious bad ending, not if it's the worst ending.

That's up for debate and I personally believe ME3 was worse than those. ME3 has A LOT more riding on it than those games.

mass effect 3 is story heavy thats what it was sold on that and choice the big import your save file thing that bioware made us buy in to

then they ignore mass effct one and make mass effect 2 nothing but filler

I think it is worse because of those reasons but it will always be known for just how bad it was

What? This thread is about the ending itself. You asked if we thought ME3 has the worst ending in VG history. I said "probably not".

Is it the worst ending ever? With the EC, not by a long shot. Did it cause the biggest sh*t storm amongst it's fans? God yes. In over 20 years of gaming I've never seen anything like it, and for better or for worse it is what Mass 3 will be remembered for.

I'll put it to you this way. No video game ending on the planet, has ever made me not want to re-play that game. EVER. Enter ME3. Before the EC, i was completely turned off to the Mass Effect series. And i loved Mass Effect to death. I was invested. Mass Effect 2 practically gave me a joygasim, it was so good.

I think to write a worst ending than ME3, you need to actually bring in a team of writers. Sit them down, and actually think hard. You actually have to think and try hard to make an ending worse than ME3. And it's pretty hard to do.

I'd say in terms of hype/expectations, overall story, its characters, and the resulting failed potential, ME3 stands out as the worst. Sure there may have been endings that by themselves were even more terrible, but when you look at all that the ME3 ending had failed to live up to, it definitely stands out as the worst.

As has been mentioned, the only ending in recent memory that even comes close to being this bad was that of KOTOR 2 (which also suffered from being rushed and overhyped).

I didn't mind FO3's end, mostly because I had a save before Project Purity, so I didn't lose my character.

I'm sorry. I thought the question was "Does Mass Effect 3 have the..." not "Does the Mass Effect series have the..."

Judging solely on the game in question, KOTOR 2's ending is RIDICULOUSLY worse and it's not even close. Not. Even. Close.

My problem with Fallout 3's ending is, always has been, and always will be:

I have a giant buddy standing right next to me who's completely immune to radiation. WHY THE F CAN'T HE GO IN THE EFFING DOOR? WHAT THE F? THIS IS STUPID.
