This is really starting to ****** me off. Now come on Bioware, i know you guys  should know better than this. This game has been out for a long while now, and there are still significant bugs. I should have read these forums before even purchasing this crap. I got this to help ease my wait for ME2, and now this has become such a disappointment i might even cancel my pre order for the CE.

How hard is it to fix the freakin memory leak within the game? My comp specs are fine and i can run games that require more hardware with maxed settings than this game. I had to put the Video settings on medium and couldn't even have antialiasing on to reduce the loading times just a bit. The loading time was moderate at the beginning, but after about 3 hours of total gameplay over two days, the loading increased to about 10 minutes for a simple room. Then it went to freezing the screen after the loading was finished, imprinting the logo and background even though if finished loading. I could hear my character moving around as i controlled him, but the screen was the loading screen.

I go to start my game right now, and my game either has the same loading screen freeze on the character creator, or it crashes when i load any previous game save. The game is fully updated to the latest patch (I'm using Steam so its automatic) and shouldn't be having this problem with the release of the previous patches, or at all for that matter. This shows that there wasn't extensive beta testing going on with this product. I like to think that i deserve an answer from you guys, or an explanation, considering I payed you $50 for something that doesn't work. And the problem isn't on my end Bioware, its on yours.

Don't know if you will respond to me or not, a perk that comes with being with EA, I know, but I would like to hear something in regards to this issue. So far I haven't been able to play the game at all except for about 3 hours. Now it just crashes on me. I want my moneys worth. If this is the kind of services you guys are resorting to now, then maybe its time for me to cancel my Mass Effect 2 Collectors Edition pre order. Because there's no use in buying a game that won't work, and doesn't receive support from its developers.

You guys are pretty much the last credible company that I can rely on for games. Bungie, Epic, and so many others have already let down their fans with little to no support. I hope that you guys won't do the same.

I have to reboot about every four hours of solid gameplay. I am kind of used to it though after all these years.

Rebooting doesn't fix it for me. The problem is still occurring. I should have just bought this for the 360, but i wanted mods. Now it looks like i've wasted $50 on something that doesn't work, and after about 2 months doesn't look like they're gonna fix it.

Im in the same boat of having to reboot. If its any consolation your not the only one suffering Biowares neglect. I would not be half as pissed about this if they would acknowledge the issue and put our minds at ease, Instead we get the silent treatment. I for one was a big Bioware fan but I am reconsidering this.

The thing I have learned is, on all future releases of Bioware games wait a few weeks and watch the forums to see if the game works.

Bohooo nobody cares! I mean Bioware doesn't care! We are all suffering from this memory crap and our constant pleads are not heard!

I must stress that this is not my viewpoint, but according to some experts that frequent this forum, all you need to do is disable your security software and get a new soundcard. Yep, that should sort out all problems. ;)

If it was that simple.

Booting seems to work for now, didn't before. Hope it continues to do so.

I played the game in a laptop and never had the leak memory problem. Have you guys the latest graphic card drivers, directx, update everything and see if that works. Otherwise start a thread with your pc components so you can see what you have in common and is causing the problem.

C++ and memory leaks go hand in hand.

I can't wait until developers stop coding in C++, accept a 2% performance hit and finish projects 6 months ahead of time saving the company millions in revenue, lowering the price of their game, allocating extra time to making the game better instead of worrying about discarding objects that are no longer needed.

Let's waste time with pointers instead of making a better game in C#.

Yeah, if you can't program and/or design well, that is. An object should create it's own memory storage, and destroy it when it is no longer needed. What's the problem writing both at the same time? Create the memory allocation routine, and then create the memory destruction routine, and test it thoroughly before you do anything else.

I've created very few memory leaks while programming in C / C++, but then... I am a slow designer, programmer and tester, something which is not too much appreciated nowadays. Many companies even advocate the "program now, design/fix later" principle. Then you'll get memory leaks all right.

And, there are some things that C++'s pointer flexibility can do that cannot be replicated in C# or any managed language in any way.

I'm not a Bioware fan boy as such, but I think this is an issue with EA's way of running things. It's the same with Sims 3. Every time a new patch comes for Sims3, it fixes some minor things, and introduces at least 5 new bugs that make the game unplayable, and apparently EA isn't listening.

It's like EA made a rule for all their developers that says "No beta testing - just finish up quickly so we can hype the game and get 1000s of suckers to buy our crap".

I'd like to say that I've only had DA crash 2 times since I bought it. Apart from that, I have noticed significantly longer load times sometimes, but nothing that made me really impatient, so it's not something that ruins the game for me. I have wondered why though, as sometimes (like it's been mentioned) it will take forever to load a small room.

I agree that it's EA Bodoron.

Bioware have always been my favourite developer, and I was concerned when I saw EA get involved with them as business partners.

The results speak for themselves.

Blind Freddy could see this game wasn't ready when it was released, the only reason it was is that it was the perfect time to start ringing up 'stocking stuffer' sales at this time of year.

I like to think that had Bioware no connections with EA they would have had the pride to delay the game till it was ready. (LOVED most all of Biowares other games).

I truly think this is a sign of the times and, unfortunately it seems that yet another of my favourite developers has fallen wayside to the EA business model.

Thumbs down EA.

EA is retarded, and they're too cocky. They act like they're the best, when in reality 99% of gamers hate them. They have a track record for screwin' up games. I'm still a little bothered that Bioware joined them. Big disappointment. Hopefully their future games won't all reflect EA's immaturity.

So far the game is running average i guess. I have to restart the computer about every 3-4 hours. I'm at the part where i get to the camp for the first time. After that on my first playthrough the problems started. Hopefully it will continue to run smoothly when i get back on.
