1. Tell her she's pretty.

2. Tell her you haven't seen many elven ladies-in-waiting.

3. Tell her that if you had a maid like her, you might consider it.

4. Tell her that you think that the two of you should get to know each other better.

5. Tell her you're thinking of something more intimate later.

6. Choose any option except the 'On second thought, maybe not' one.

Note that all of that assumes you're a female. I've no idea how the conversation changes if you're playing a Male PC.

That's the girl from the human noble origin, right?

Obviously, step one is to tell her you'd like to talk later in private during the triggered conversation with her family and your mother.

After you've done that, but before you go to your brother's room (after which it's too late to do a lot of things, as the second you leave the room it jumps to the attack), you need to find Iona. IIRC she's in a room off the study or library (can't remember which it's called, maybe it's the study which is behind the library?). At any rate, once you find her, you can be very blunt about what you want and she will agree to meet you that night. The post above mine that goes through the specific dialogue choices is correct as I recall for a male PC as well.

You see her in bed with you when the attack starts, and she is killed right when you open the door during the cutscene. Poor Iona. Romancing her completes the sidequest, Sweet Iona (at least I think that's the name, been a while).

I think that only makes you wake up with her during the attack, and that she gets shot and killed before you can react. Don't think it triggers a sex scene, unlike what I've heard you can get as a dwarf male noble when talking to courtesans.

Did anyone else think that whole sequence was hilarious?

"I'll go see who is outside."

Whips back in a dramatic pose, blood fountains out of arrow in chest.

There wasn't any scene when I had my dwarf noble invite both of the girls back to my room. You do get to talk about it to Gorim the next day though, and that's pretty funny.

Can't even get laid in a videogame, eh? I kid, I kid... I can confirm what others have said, though. There's no "romance scene", but if she agrees to come to your room she will be in your bed when you wake up during the attack.

From what I remember the process was the same for my male noble.

Romancing Iona isn't that difficult. Basically you just always choose the dialogue option that flatters her until you get to the option that suggests something intimate later on.

EDIT: I just relaized that the original poster didn't really say why he was having trouble with Iona. I wonder if he hasn't talked to her the second time, and thought he could romance on her on the first meeting?

If you've only got the first meeting with Iona along with your mother, after she leaves you have to find her in the study. It is the back room in the library.

When you return to Orzammer (Diamond Quarter) later in the game, one of the chicks you had sex with will have gotten preggo and be all pissed at you for being exiled and her child being casteless. I told her "Haha, not my prob ****" and walked away. No idea what would happen if ya tried to be nice to her.

just like real life: pretend you're interested about everything except sex, then when you're out of ideas and she thinks you're interested in her as a person, go for the kill shot.

You don't see her get killed but you can assume that her and everyone else at tour castel gets killed.
