I've found myself usning my Indra I a lot lately. I seem to be having some success with it on gold with a Salinfiltrator I set up, regularly topping leaderboards in PUG games and, it seems, with groups of friends too.

Last night on our FB London gold run someone questioned me about it, noting that they rarely saw Indra being used on Gold -- or, for that matter, Salarian infiltrators or Tempests (which two of us were using as backup weapons at the time).

Where do people think the Indra stands now in the ME3 metagame? I find it incredibly accurate at range, powerful enough to dispose of multiple baddies and clear out minions quickly, sufficiently large in the clip to be used without needing the ammo box too often and light enough to be versatile on most classes

Sorry if this has been a thread recently but I was looking for people's up-to-date opinions of the weapon.

Thoughts?

It used to be a ****ty rifle, it was heavy and also weak, a couple buffs fixed that but not before leaving a bad impression on many people.

with the recent buffs I have become quite fond of mine (only level I v.v), and with certain characters like the turian soldier with the stability/marksman combo or the the destroyer with RoF increase it's quite nice I also toss it on a demolisher with disruptor ammo to set up tech bursts to great effect

One of, if not the best, automatics in the game.

How many cloak bonus Indra shots can a GI get out in one cloak?

with rate of fire bonus, at least one and half clips, probably close to 2.
that would be about 40 bullets.

Best SR. Still worse than a shotgun, assault rifle, pistol or Hurricane.

I tried it a bit after the most recent buffs. Still not a fan. It only has slight recoil, but slight is more than enough to screw with the ability to headshot from medium to long range. You'll still get a lot of headshots I'm sure, but you'll also miss a lot.

So it's meh as a sniper rifle, and meh as an assault rifle. It's not a bad gun, but it's not worthy of being an UR. Then again, not many UR's are.

I have the Indra X and it is easily one of the best guns in the game. on a GI with Warp Rounds it shreds Phantoms, Atlases, Banshess and basically any enemy. don't listen to ANYONE hating on the indra now.

I used it earlier on a Destroyer. It surprised me, it was definitely more effective than I anticipated. That being said, it just doesn't fit my playstyle so I probably won't be going back to it anytime soon. If there were no hipfire penalty for SRs, or if you could somehow remove the scope from SRs I'd be more interested. I'm sure people who like SRs or don't mind scopes would consistently do well with it.

Yeah, I really liked using this gun too.. but it only works effectively on the Silarian Infiltrator because you can TC for 105% damage increase + energy drain to stun or proximity mine to debuff.

With other characters, this gun isn't nearly as good.

That's weird.  6/0/6/6/6 SalarInfils are some of the best button-pushers and first-in-circles in the game.  Backup guns are kind of bad, though.

This gun has definitely come a long way. I remember initially when this gun first came out and I loathed the thought of getting it in a SP / PSP, and now it's become one of my favorite guns.

Low weight which allows it to be used on many classes, high rate-of-fire, good DPS; good, medium-range scope that works well on both smaller & larger maps, superb extra ammo capacity, recoil that's more than manageable... There's not much else to ask for, and after its most recent buff, I now see it worthy of being an Ultra-Rare.

Given that my Indra is only lvl 7, I liked it pre-buff, love it now.
Though, I have to say that I use it on my N7 Destroyer. Slap an incendiary, warp or AP mod and it's pretty scary to see boss mobs' hp drain away from the Indra's ROF.

So, Destroyer + Indra = win for me.

I also find this a good enginieer gun. Very light and with a weight reduction spec, most engineers can achive 200% cd.

Indra's definitely a good gun. Maybe not the best pick for every class, but on the classes it works for it's wonderful. Lot of fun too. Hoping to see more full-autos and sniper rifles buffed to this level of utility.

Indra is awesome. I use it with almost all chars on Platinum.
The damage it deals is great and it has a lot of ammo.

You have it at X.  How many people have it at X?  And you're still having to say "with (arguably) the best ammo in the game) it shreds stuff.  I think you just painted a more negative picture of it than the "haters".

Who cares? If ppl hate a gun because they think its bad.... Its their problem. They miss something out and I could care less. Its a great gun for any difficulty.
Most of my frieds have it on X too. I only have it on VII... from my point of view there are many with a maxed out Indra.

I have the Indra I and use it on the SI as well. It's the only SR I like but then they aren't generally my type of gun anyways. Without any mods/ammo I do a hell of a lot of damage on silver and it can at least contribute with mods on gold.

Shows how much the game has changed, though, with your comments on the SI; I always thought that people use to consider him the best class for gold from what I remember when the game first came out. He was like the promised land for the lowly bronze players like me at the time. :-D

It's a great gun. It's even better on infiltrators specced with rank 6 evo on TC.

Slap on Warp or Incendiary ammo, and watch bosses melt on any difficulty.

The only drawback is the hipfire penalty.

No, the Indra is a rather odd fish.

If you discount any ammo mod usage, it performs well, not great but definitely in the "good" range. However once you throw ammo mods into the mix, the damage per second ratio go up the roof due to the Indra's ROF.

This is even more apparent if you use it on a class with ROF bonuses like the Destroyer or Geth Infil / Engineer.

More importantly, it has far more utility then most will give it for. Head shot bonuses for Mooks, make this gun a tap shot face melter and is very forgiving if you miss, just bring that stream of molten lead onto target.

Considering that I switch between it and my Harrier often, I find it less a problem in management since I dont have to be married to an ammo box. As for its hip shot penalty, that's what the Piranha is for. Knowing when to switch between guns is part of the fun, no?

The hipfire penalty is a dumb mechanic in any case. It shouldn't exist.
