With several weapons now, I've noticed that they sometimes refill by themselves. It seems if I don't use a lot of ammo, sometimes the counter goes down during shooting and when I look at it later, like at the end of a wave, it's full again.
This is quite nice, of course. Just a little bit worried that this might get me labelled a cheater (hey, I'm not even doing this actively - no idea how to start or end it) and banned.
Or is this some kind of new feature? Seems to have started after the Rebellion DLC.

Saw that happen to me yesterday, never noticed it before. Also once on a very laggy game I'd get about three or four shots off after a reload before it would reload again (on some large magazine gun, can't remember which one now).

Has ammunition always been refilled automatically at the end of a wave? I don't remember it happening back during the demo days and when the game was first released.

It have always been. You only get something like 80% of one clip though.
