I'm sorry if this has already been posted. My hard drive has planty of space (only 40% is used up), and it took me three or four reloads to get the game from stop freezing right after I aquire the mouse form in the Fade in the Circle. This was during my very first playthrough, and I've never had such glitch problems with any other game, even xbox orginal games such as KotOR or JE (that I am aware of, anyway).
This game I am finding to be very glitchy, especially in battle, when I try to use secondary combat options (RT + Y, i.e.)
Is this going to be a problem for the rest of the game? I hear about 'patches' that are meant to fix certain glitches. Should I get them, and how? WIll the game play fine w/o them? Or should I play whille on xboxlive more to get updates? Is anyone else having this problem?
DAO glitches and patches?

First of all, realize DA:O isn't optimalized to be installed on your HDD.
And I suffer from the same freezing problems, especially when I try to access the mountain top during the Sacred Ashes quest.
And it's generally handy to be constantly signed into Xbox Live, so you can get the patches right away. The patch will be released when the DLC comes out, you don't need to buy it to recieve it though.

There are no console patches yet, and the PC patches have pretty much just been to put in things for the PC version that were already included with the console versions (because they were coded by Edge of Reality and Bioware after the PC version, of course). The first patch for the consoles is supposed to be being worked on right now, too, because there are some definite bugs that have been proven and agreed upon as bugs by developers (such as the broken radial dial for poisons/traps not being counted properly).
It sounds like you are having worse problems than most people. There are some actual bugs/glitches in the game. You can read through the forum to see various posts and problems, but some of the posts seem to be due to something other than a game bug/glitch. There seems to be quite a variety of experiences amongst players/users, and your experience seems to be towards the more negative end.
If you haven't installed the game onto your Xbox hard drive, you may want to do so because that may solve some of the glitching issues you are seeing. You may also want to try clearing the Xbox cache (system settings options for HDD to clear it).

Yeah. I have my copy installed to the harddrive and haven't experienced any freezing or stutterring yet.

I do enjoy the game, I am just worried that this is a bigger problem than I thought. Installing the game, and xbox live, got it.
