Ok in Mass Effect 1 I romanced Ashley (and before the Liara fans crucify me, I romanced her with a different Shep and stayed loyal to her) and in Mass Effect 2 after Ashley was a biatch on Horizon I went for Miranda and romanced her, I was expecting a 'catfight' if you will in ME3 or a scenario where they both confront you and force you to chose like in ME1 between Ashley and Liara:
But there was nothing of the sort in ME3, Ashley mentions Miranda and in my first playthrough I put Ash in her place (just after seeing Miranda and telling her I still liked her) and I don't know if I picked the wrong choice later on when you meet Ashley at the cafe on the Citadel but a romance never occured between them. I then romanced Miranda later.
So in the 2nd playthrough I appologized to Ashley and refused to give Miranda the access to the Alliance Network resulting in her death and my romance with Ashely continued, is this the only outcome? Or can you see them both in secret? I hope there is a confrontation bit as BioWare did they if you have 2 love interests they will be 'vying for you attention" but I never got anything of the sort aside from Ashely's one remark about her (the swim wear one).
Just wondering if anyone can help me out here..

There's no confrontation or doubling down of LIs in ME3. You could still save Miranda's life without continuing the romance, but you can't juggle both women...they always find out about the other and immediately cease being interested. Don't even get to fight for their honor or reconsider later, when you're locked in you're locked in. Tali and Ashley or Tali and Liara on the Geth juggernaut is about as close as you get to a cat fight.

As soon as you "lock in" a romance in ME3, you can't go after anyone else. In your first playthrough Ashley probably figured you were done with her and didn't even bother pursuing you - unless you previously had the Miranda scene in the apartment and locked her romance.
There's no real LI confrontation in ME3. Liara snaps at you if you cheat on her (that is, lock in another romance while you were involved with her) and breaks up with you, and some LI will mention your previous relationships, but that's pretty much it.

Yea no confrontations sadly. That was a cool feature in Me1 and somewhat in Me2.

Yo DJ Im'ma let you finish but Miranda Lawson had the best romance of all time.

I'm glad the confrontation idea was tossed, personally.
The problem is that Bioware was wrong to even define the relationships with the ME2 LIs as cheating in the first place. Regardless of who Shepard was with in Mass Effect 1, he or she ends up single in ME2. Even marriage vows state 'till death do us part,' and Shepard had been dead for two years. Additionally when Shepard reunites with either the VS or Liara they all make it clear, to varying degrees, that they aren't interested at that moment in picking where they had left off with Shep. That leaves him or her single and perfectly free to mingle.
