By ballistic shield I mean a shield similar to the ones, which some Cerberus troops use to protect themselves from frontal attacks.

A lot of the powers just don't fit with the role of a human Alliance soldier, are too gimmicky, redundant, or are just lore breaking or any combination of the above. The only powers I can see working in the main campaign are Arc Nades and maybe Tac Scan.
It was pointed out to me that Hunter Mode could also work.

for you, perhaps.
the whole point of having more abilities to choose from is to please as many players as possible. idk why ME3 doesnt already feature this since bioware agenda was to do that very thing. so, if you dont like something, then dont use it. if you want to play a vangaurd that uses throw and warp, go ahead. whatever makes you happy.
instead we get redundant adepts, boring underarmed soldiers, nova/charge spamming vangaurds, blah blah blah you get my point.
id say give me some choice, but bioware doesnt understand what choice means.

Hay, I'm all for more choice in the single player. But the fact is a lot of the MP powers a human just wouldn't have (Bloodlust, Bloodrage) are redundant (Flamer, Snap Freeze) and almost all of the new Biotic powers just ignore the lore. But we already have a few main game powers that do that so who cares right?
Don't get me wrong I love the muliplayer and have more fun than I should with it. But the new powers work because they are build for multiplayer where what should and shouldn't be possible within the rules of the ME universe is a bit blurry.

For balancing i would make it so you could select your powers in the beginning of the game, like if your an Infiltrator you get list of all the powers accessible to Infiltrator, but you can only choose 5(can't remember how many Shep has currently in SP) except for the main power like TC or BC for Vanguards.
Willing to pay for this

It might even get me to play the SP aga... well, okay, probably not. But it would be fun to run around with an annihilation field up.
