I highly doubt they would add multiplayer to Dragon Age. When was the last medieval setting C-RPG that actually had co-op / multiplayer? I honestly can't remember, to be honest.
World of Warcraft. A couple people play it.
That is an MMO, a totally different ballgame. I am talking about a single player focused RPG.
Dragon age 3 multiplayer...

MP or no, I hope it'll be a really really great game. Hell, I completely underestimated how addictive ME3's MP would be, so I get given enough incentive and resources, it could work in DA, too. But main thing: breathtakingly good game Bioware. You can do it.

The multiplayer depsite all of the tech issues, nerfdom and repetitive enemy factions was enjoyable, but it came at the expense of the single player campaign. Short, ridiculously contrived plots and subplots, limited squad, limited campaign/customization options, exploration reduced to an inferior mini-game................and that's BEFORE we even got to the endings.
This is what primarly concerns most of the people here who actually still intend to buy DA3. Multiplayers are being tacked on everything now, even on titles that didn't previously need them. Some will be good MPs, but most unfortunately are very cheap.
The problem IS, the better the multiplayer, the worse the single campaign is likely to be.

Honestly i think it would be the wrong time to bring it out because DA2 was bad and if DA3 is bad or even if say some aspect of it was bad and the rest good people will blame the MP. they will think ut was because they spent the time they could have on the SP on the MP.

Co-op that doesn't take tons of resources away from the single player experience is the ONLY form of multiplayer I would be happy with. Other than that, 100% single player.
Agreed. Add to this the space needed on the disc for console that is needed that could lessen the game content overall.
Although no MP for DA is my first choice

So basically, I wouldn't complain about multiplayer, but where most of the fans are concerned it seems like a bad idea at the moment. Probably better to hold off until at least DA4.

But it is exactly what will happen, look at ME3.
360 version of ME3 did have two discs.

Yep shoehorn in some MP to take resources and disc space away from SP, also they better add micro-transactions to maximise profits.
DA3 will be 2 discs with MP, what does that tell you about SP.

Seriously though, not every damn game needs multiplayer, can't this just be a well done single player experience?
I completely agree. If I wanted to interact with a bunch of geeky ****s, I'd be on the Bioware forums. (kidding, kidding).
But seriously, you're right. Not every game needs to be multiplayer. Yuck.

I'd really like to see more character customization in the MP and I REALLY hate some of the aspects of their Spectre Pack system. Hopefully they can find a better way of handling loot with DA3.

By default I don't think DA3 needs MP, but if it did; Laidlaw has already stated that if they were to include MP, they would model it after Baldur's Gate which didn't take ANYTHING away from SP.

I think it would depend on how the game is designed. If the gameplay leans more toward DA:O or a game like Neverwinter Nights 2, then I think MP could be a great addition to the game, especially in the long run. With a certain kind of MP, there'd be lots of options to do RP in the world of DA. At that point, a mod-kit would also come in handy. But as I said, it would depend on how the game is designed.
All IMO, of course.
How about if they make multiplayer a DLC. They could do the with a toolset as well.

^ this i could actually get behind as a respectful compromise for those of us who know MP is the worst idea ever, and those that are completely eager to jump on that bandwagon. let those who want it, have it, but leave the rest of us ALONE for mercy's sake!
