I'm playing on the hardest difficulty setting atm and im having the hardest time cracking the glass to hijack an atlas mech,
I tried using the widow, but i ended up killing the mech.
I tried the mantis, same effect.

Seems like my squad is doing too much damage? I try to have them attack other things, or better yet have them dead but i cant get them killed when the time is right.
Every single time i try to do this, progressing through the campaign i get the same result using only the sniper to hit the glass.

Should I or should I not be going for highest powered shot with increase damage attachments.
Or should i be trying to hit it alot of times with a low powered sniper in case its a number of shots thing.
Or is it even possible on Insanity?

Thats the position I did it but I did it on a lower difficult with the Black Widow.



But there is also an alternative way to get that Trophy

In the Grissom Academy level, you get an atlas near the end. So, only use the cannon (not the missiles) and shoot at the glass of the enemy atlas that attacks your atlas. You will kill the pilot, and then all you have to do is get off your atlas and get the enemy one for the trophy. (Note: If you don't move quickly enough an enemy trooper will take the atlas)

I found it easier to not use Sniper Rifles at all when going for the Hiack an Atlas trophy in Insanity, and instead used the Carnifex heavy pistol. Much easier to do it with and got it first time.
