I stopped paying attention to the ultimate universe as soon as they killed peter parker JUST so they can make Spiderman black.

That was not the reason they did that, Bendis was even planning to do that for a long time before it happened.

And hell Spider-Man is still the best comic of the Ultimate stuff, better than normal Spider-Man even.

Yes exactly they planned to kill Peter Parker so they can make a black superhero without going through the hard processs of making one.  I don't see what we're in disagreement there.

Wait what? Yes Peter got killed because Bendis wanted it to happen, so he could make a new Spider-Man. So yeah you are somewhat right, but how is that a bad thing?

Also they still had to make Miles as a character, he is nothing like Peter. Powers and superhero names have little to do with how hard or easy it is to make a good character.

Anyway it's all moot points, since Miles is better than Ultimate Peter and normal Peter.=]

In fairness it was the Ultimate Universe version....Except After Civil War and One More Day, Ultimate Spider-man was the only Marvel comic I was still Reading...Not anymore.

Some punk ass kid got the Blue Beetle scarab just because, and then we ending up with Jaime Reyes, who is a great character.

Who is this "they"? You mean Bendis? Yeah I am sure he killed Peter off becuare he could and wanted to. I am also sure he made Miles for some political correctness reasons, but I don't really see the problem when the character is fine. Let us not forget that Marvel does not care about any of their non-white characters or the X-Men, so political correctness is not Marvel's main goal or any goal for that matter. Marvel's main goal is to turn superheroes into a-holes.=]

As for why you should care when Marvel doesn't? Because the writing is good?

LOL how can you sit there with a straight face and tell me the writing is good?  They kill spiderman for whatever reason who gives a **** why only to replace him just cuz.
In what screwed up universe is that good writing?

Peter's death was meh, I can agree to that. But when I said good writing I was talking about the comics after his death, the ones with Miles.

The whole thing makes me think of Blue Beetle, Ted's death was stupid but Jaime ended up being a great character. So as long as the writing is good, you just kind of have to move on. I mean at least there are no deals with the devil right?

Oh and Peter's death should not have made you stop reading the Ultimate comics... Blob eating Wasp is what should have made you stop reading.=]

I wish I was making that up.

Yeah but you diddnt watch Avengers just because Nick Fury was in it did you? Not sure exactly what your point is or was but the Avengers diddnt really need cameos from lesser known entities in the Marvell universe to sell seats.

Are you saying Nick Fury's character... was a "cameo" to the Avengers...? Have you... read any Avengers comics... or seen Avengers pictures (not movie), or... seen any part of the animated show, or... I dunno... been around at all?

No I havent.

Hey, I thought Thor was going to bomb and it proved me seriously wrong. They'll probably shove in some other marvel character (Probably Nick Fury) to get a bigger audience.

Yea, again speaking for the stupid general movie going public, I'm gonna say "Who's Nick Fury and why do I care?"

Also speaking for the stupid general movie going public, I'm going to add: "Guy's called Ant Man, and he doesn't shrink, he grows? Wow, dumber and dumber".

I really don't see this being a success.

Nick Fury, played by Sam L. Jackson, was in Avengers. You know Avengers, at least, right? The movie that made 1.4 billion?

Yeah but you diddnt watch Avengers just because Nick Fury was in it did you? Not sure exactly what your point is or was but the Avengers diddnt really need cameos from lesser known entities in the Marvell universe to sell seats.

The argument was that Fury's role in the Avengers was enough to likely intrest audiances in a solo film.

Oh I thought it was that Nick Fury appearing in Ant Man would somehow make it more enticing to the movie going public because it obviously worked for the Avengers, but perhaps I misinterpreted his post.

Still other than the fact that Nick Fury is the guy who put together the Avengers I still dont know what his significance is or why he would get his own movie?

Fury is not only the leader of SHIELD, the world's top espionage and peace keeping organisation, he's also their top agent. http://i28.tinypic.com/aemdc9.jpg Yes the classic verion of the character is white.

Come on, love it or hate it, you know that there is a market for Sam Jackson being a badass secret agent.

And know why it was done?
Joe quesada said Spider-man being married wasn't Relateable.
AKA: "I want to Hold the character back 20 years because I'm stupid"

However if they wanted to do that why not do it like Supermans Marriage and Reboot the whole thing? After Civil War I would've just Rebooted Everything.

I think it could work in a campy sort of way. Or as a kid's movie.

Thor wasn't exactly targeted at adults (in comparison to other super hero movies) and that did pretty well.
