(I think both these can be made by using maps from single player and earlier games.)

I would like to add things to the lobby instead of the game itself.
First of all, i would very much like a lobby list of avalible games instead of just being thrown into one randomly. It would also be nice if you are hosting, to see a list of people looking for a game, and be able to invite them, instead of waiting for someone random to be thrown into the game. It could look a bit like this:

Most importantly this would allow people to choose players and or hosts that have low lag, playing a amp/enemy/faction that they (also) like, instead of chosing one specific criteria, and hope for the best. Also, it would allow people to avoid other players that they have a feeling that they may not like playing with very much...
Text chat in game, as well as in lobby would be a close second, as not everyone has a mic, or can hear what people are saying.
The ability to see a players stats, other than N7 Rating. Won and lost on all or a specific map/enemy/difficulty, games left, average game activity overall or on a specific map/enemy/difficulty. It still isn't enough to know wether a player is good or bad, but the more info you can get, the more educated the guess you can make.
The ability to inspect a players powers on current character and maniphest. Not to nit pick, but it does make a lot of difference in playstile wether an adept is specced for stasis sniping or throw spam. Being able to pick another class that compliments that would definantly be an advantage. The same goes for players loadouts - sometimes people dont realize that the gun they picked wont work very well, but instead of assuming that they have every gun avalible and saying "lol u noob", it would be much to be able to see their armory and suggest an alternative instead.

I want a hub (Citadel? N7 Base?). Then I can talk to random people, go shopping at the RNG store, customize my squad's dormitory, drop in at friends' places and see their customizations/manifests/rooms, maybe play some minigames for credits? And random NPCs to talk to like a Hanar who trades your excess consumables that you don't want for credits, or other consumables, or something. And a stock trading kiosk where you can look at statistics for yourself and the community. And a bar where you can go dancing.
And most of the stuff that others have said. Modes, enemies, bug fixes. I also want more Drell.

Game Types
- Last Stand Mode: No objectives, no set number of waves. The waves keep coming until everyone is dead. The longer you survive, the more credits and XP you get.
- Escape Mode: Needs specific maps for game mode. These maps are long maps that are split up in 3 or more parts. They are segregated by doors or gates you need to get to and hack to go to the next part. Every part is harder than the last one and how further you get how more XP and credits you get. At the end of the map is a shuttle waiting. If you die in a part you will respawn once the rest of your team gets to the next part.

I would like some maps with dark areas requiring a flashlight, armor customization, a list of available games, some linear missions that require a diverse squad (i.e. and infiltrator for bypassing a door, and engineer for hacking a computer, maybe a wall that needs to be knocked down by a Vanguard biotic charge or a Destroyer's multifrag.) and I think that completes my list.

I would like some sort of interaction with the environment; opening doors,lowering bridges,activating defense systems (automated turrets/shield generators...).
Optional objectives with rewards attached ex. Finishing a wave in a certain time limit or completing an optional hack would give alliance command an opening to drop supplies like a heavy weapon or a full grenade refill or a full health restoration...

New game-mode with more players to a game, say 12 or so. Fight hundreds of enemies on bigger maps. You could even throw in some vehicles for those of us who were sort of sad the campaign didn't have any...

I'd really like to play an MP game where it feels like the reaper war on Earth - unpredictable enemy spawn and drop-off points, and ammo/weapons to grab from downed enemies. No revives, only medigel avail. Once medigel runs out, off the player go (with whatever credits and xp earned till that point; hence, these must be calculated based on dmg on mobs to avoid kill-steal issue). Imagine the terror of a Banshee materializing from behind

A lot of good ideas in this thread, here's hoping we'll see some of them in this game and maybe a few of the more over-the-top ones in the next installment. Holdenagincourt's hub would have been awesome.
For me:
- A new game mode. Somewhat more linear missions or anything really, just something that will keep this game alive.
- New enemies. Personally I don't think a new faction is necessary and I probably couldn't bring myself to shoot Krogan and Batarians if we got a merc faction. I think they should simply add some enemy types to the factions we already have. A shotgun wielding Cerberus trooper, a geth hopper, some badass reaper variant, there are a lot of possibilites.

Complete weapon sets for every race/ manufacturer. That is to say, a geth heavy pistol, salarian assault rifle, shotgun, sniper and SMG, asari assault rifle, sniper and SMG, quarian SMG, sniper and assault rifle (in MP), krogan Heavy pistol, SMG and sniper, turian shotgun, SMG and heavy pistol, blood pack/vorcha weapons, maybe even prothean shotgun, sniper, HP and SMG, etc.
Also, though this might be "over the top", playable raloi.

Game mode A - 4 person team, each team member has only 1 bar of health and full shields [what can be renewed] and no medi-gel, no cobra missles. 1 game could contain for example 30 waves, and the enemies would be the troops who only have a health bar [not any barriers, shields etc.] - i am talking about husks, cerberus and geth troopers. And in each round only one ammo box that are on the map can give you the ammo. And of course to ake things interesting, the more further into the game you are going the more troops it would be spawning [wave 1 - 30 enemies, wave 30 - 300 :-D]. And during the game a random object can be spawned that automatically are sold for credits.
Game Mode B - Rush Game Mode from BF3. You are the defender and the enemies are pushing. Into a Map for example we would have 3 points where enemy would have to destroy two things. And since we have arming soe objectives in BF 3 we could have for exapmle:
Base 1 - Protecting Civilians [A], that were evacuating to the shuttles
Base 2 - Protecting wounded soldiers [A] to their Base [B]
Base 3 - Protecting scientist [A] when they are deploying a waepon [B] that gices us the guarantee that we'll win.
Of course this kind of mode would require bigger maps. Bigger maps with some machine guns, rocked launcers, etc.
I also agree with the others here - sould be released a map pack with the different time [always wanted to play Noveria in the Dark], also want to play some maps where flashlights are required. Oh and also instead of those stupid loading screens with the "clues how to play better" they could make some loading cinematics like those in the COD games - each one, suited for the specific maps, with some Anderson/Hackett giving us the debrief.
